My new Manix, and a heartwarming story...

#1

Post by Jeff/1911 »

Well, after just rediscovering the forum here this past week...I couldn't resist adding a new Spydie to my collection. :D

I was shopping with my 12 year old daughter last evening, and we stopped into the local knife shop. I handled both the large and smaller Manix and really was impressed by both... ;)

We left there and did some other shopping then returned later on our way home, so I could have another look. Well, as I fondled the large Manix again, thinking..."Oh, I really can't afford this right now..." my daughter leaned over and said "Dad, you deserve it!"...and "I'll pitch in some of my babysitting money to help you pay for it if you want...".

Needless to say; I was touched. ;)

So, as we arrived home and she used it to cut the wrappers from her newly purchased fashion accessories I smiled and thought..."****, am I a lucky man."

You know, because I got a new knife! :D

Alright, first of all, that's touching, man! Second of all, sweet Spydie! What turned me off from the Manix was the apparant inability to carry it tip-up. Yours has the holes drilled for it, so now I'm drooling....again.

Use the heck out of it and let us know what ya think.

That is truly a touching story!
Apparently your daughter got to make the first cut with the Manix, which is very fitting. ;) :D

Thanks guys. Yes, I am sure fortunate to have such a great and considerate kid...I was joking about the "lucky because of the new knife" thing.

Jeff.

You really are a lucky man - sweet daughter :) Very nice knife, too. Does she like, or have any knives?

- best wishes, Jazz.

Thanks for the heart warming story Jeff

"Dad, can I carry this one?" That's what my son would have said :( . Without any financial contribution from his part that is :( :D

You're a very lucky man with a daughter like that ;)

Dude, you have NO choice! You have to get your daughter a pink Delica or Endura!

http://www.emergencyoptions.com/catalog ... ode=C10PPN
That's a heckuva deal for an Endura in any color, much less pink!

All in favor of Jeff/1911 buying his daughter a pink Spydie, say ''aye.''

Lucky man

You certainly are a lucky man Jeff. Whenever I get a new knife (which isn't so often these days :( ) my kids just start arguing about whose going to inherit it  . Ah well, at least I've taught them to appreciate :spyder: 's :D .

cheers,
