Which Spyderco to carry?
Which Spyderco to carry?
Do you ever have trouble deciding which Spyderco to carry? How do you decide?
I have an FRN Dragonfly and FRN Cricket, and I have that battle with myself all the time.

Boy, that sounds very familiar!
Funny, the more Spydies I get, the more I wind up carrying with me! My Native in my left, my Endura on my right...
I guess it should depend on your activities for the day. Then again, I'm one who usually overpacks on trips.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem
Work is easy, the stealthy standard or the stealthy Calypso Jnr.
Out of work is a bit more tricky as there are no carry restictions (apart from the legal ones). I usually have a "carry of the week", then the following week I get guilty the others aren't getting an airing and so swap.
"Walk softly, but carry a big stick."

I just carry them all, almost, not like I have as many as some SpydiePeople here.
Right jean pocket, a JD Smith; left jean pocket, a Mouse; hooked onto my jeans on the right side, a Remote Release; in my purse (resting the backpack), an Endura, small Victorinox with car keys, and a Leatherman Micra with apartment keys; around my neck a Mini-Police.
Used to carry my Q in a back pocket until one day it jumped out and I almost lost it. Since I freaked out due to this near loss, my beloved Q stays in a drawer next to my laptop. That was my first Spydie, so it's spoiled and resting in it's bed. The other knives in that same drawer are other brands that are shadowed by Spyderco.
An idea, how about a traveler's vest, designed specifically for SpydieFreaks that wish to carry all their knives with them. Of course, it should have a SpyderLogo.

Sharp1,
You just made my day with that comment. Thanks.
I like the G10 button MOP bug inlay idea for the Spydie vest.

minimarc123,
Yes, and as soon as I get more knives, I will have to make up more space for them. I already have a right-pocket space made for a Cricket, and I am deciding where I will carry the Shabaria once I purchase it.
All those who have heard this before and are sick of my rambling, ignore it: Mouse, the Mouse, ohhhhhhhhh, the Mouse. Worth e-v-e-r-y penny! I love the Mouse. I have used it and carried it every day for the last month and ooooh, the Mouse. It's a good-looking little knife and very sturdy. Feels like heaven in the hand, it's got considerable weight for its size and it's very well-balanced. It's easy to open, and comfortable when cutting, very easy to handle and control. I had the chance to show it off to a sales guy at Galyans (an outdoor store) a couple of days ago and he drooooooled over it. As soon as I got it out of my pocket and he saw it, his eyes widened and he could not resist handling it. I think the Mouse left a mark on him. I felt so proud.

You have to decide which one to carry? you don't have enough then, go out and get more... This is my cycle along with the multi-tool(a permanent residant on my right hip)
7am-3pm:
SS Dragonfly(plain), right IWB
Ladybug, left front
Tufram Cricket(serr), right front
3pm-11pm(or whenever I get to bed)
Delcia(plain), left front
Calypso jr lt, right front
Cricket, moved to left belt(outside, visible)
SS Dragonfly, still IWB
We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

Khaz - You'd make a good salesperson for Spyderco...Ye must be earning a commission
I'II have to get a Mouse now to add to my SpydeWrench, Spydercard, Military, Standard, Rookie, Jess Horn....groan, where does it all end!

Love all, carry some...
As a daily routine, I carry my Military (front pocket) Spydewrench (in TAD pouch, horizontally mounted on belt), Spydecard in wallet and ladybug on keychain.. Oh yeah, Endura in Mike Sastre's neck sheath as backup!

Due to seeing the movie "Training Day" last week I've put my SS serrated Police back on RH front pocket duty...it's always been one of my all-around favorite knives and is now, after a few months, back in the "elite" of my main carry knife rotation.
I always have my red Ladybug on my keyring although it's used very little. Also have been carrying a BM 550 plainedge in my waist pack along with Leatherman Micra and a Leatherman Pulse. I also carry a black Victorinox Classic in LH front pocket every day.

I guess if you have enough of them to go around, you must learn how to accesorize. I haven't been carrying my knives for awhile since I changed jobs over a year ago. My previous job: knife retail store. Current job: admin assistant. Hence, I can't really carry any of my spydies except maybe in my purse but it's not the same.
You can never have too many knives...

Al, no commission, just the passion for the Mouse, it's a great little knife. I hope you do get to handle it. I can say that about many other knives, but this one is the EDC of choice.
Don't get me wrong, I love my other knives, also the non-Spydercos (Current brands in my knife drawer: Boker is a great manufacturer, I can't say enough about Victorinox and Wenger, and Buck knives are sturdy and very affordable), but the Mouse filled a gap no other had filled before.
Carry as much as you can!
