Clay,

I am glad that I am not the only one who feels that way. Out of curiosity, which knife did you get for your daughter? I was thinking along the lines of a Ladybug II with the sheepsfoot tip...

Lsaulog,

I hate to say it but I didn't buy her a Spydie. After much deliberation I got her a Wenger SAK with a locking main blade scissors and a saw. I particularly wanted a locking main blade and she said that she would like the scissors. As it turns out she's probably used the scissors more than the blade. My next daughter's eighth birthday is coming up and I'm thinking of getting her a plain edge Jester. I think the plain edge is probably more useful for kids and easier for them to learn to sharpen. My son already has an engraved stainless Dragonfly which was given to him by some very special people around here <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>.

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow, in Australia it's tomorrow already.
