With the recent passing of the 9/11 anniversary, I thought it appropriate to get out this grail of mine, the Ground Zero Rescue.

I don't consider myself a pure collector; I'm just a guy looking for the best EDC...admittedly a lot. :D So I'm not well versed in what's generally considered a holy grail spydie. Still, I wouldn't blink twice to get an original Jess Horn collaboration model or a 25th anniversary Delica if I came across one from a trusted source.

I know it's an old thread, but I ran across my grail knife for sale on eBay and figured I'd continue an existing thread rather than start a new, redundant one. 25th Anniversary Delica. Sad to say, but I can't afford it at this time, but some lucky person will be getting a great knife. One day I'll be able to afford this beauty...

My other grail knives:

WTC D'Allara Rescue
Dino Bone Executive
P.I.G. Police
Michael Walker C22 Swiss made CF/Ti
-Kyle

:bug-red
Latest arrivals: Lava Flow CF DLC Para2, Magnacut Mule, GITD Jester

No, but there still could be. The 25th Ann. Delica was for Spyderco's 25th anniversary as a company. The 20th Anniversary Worker was for the 20th anniversary of Spyderco knives and the 30th anniversary of that will be next year.

Who's to say. Hope so, hope I'm around to see it.

I have been working on my Holy Grail quest.

For me there are 3 that really come to mind.
The number one, is the 25th Anniversary Delica.
Next for me is the C22 Walker.
Lastly, I feel the jigged bone Jess Horn.

These 3 knives really for me represent the Holy Grails of Spyderco.

I hope to get all 3. I have the Delica and Horn. Just waiting for the Walker.

C114 Phoenix
C74 Ocelot
C60 Massad Ayoob- Serrated if I could get it.
C80 Dodo
C01 Two screw worker to go with my 3 screw. Matron. :)

If there could be such a thing as "the" Holy Grail of Spyderco knives, it would have to be Sal's original hole opener "concept model" that Eric shows us at 3:18 in the first Shop Tour video.

I was just wondering about this earlier today. As a knife it's probably not worth very much but as the first prototype it must be pretty valuable. If Sal decided to put it up for sale for charity or something I'm sure collectors from all over the world would fight for it but I guess we would never know the value until that happened.
Currently enjoying Spyderco's in - S30V, VG10, Super Blue, Cruwear x4, CTS XHP, S110V x2, M4 x3, S35VN, CTS 204P x2, S90V, HAP 40, K390, RWL34, MAXAMET, ZDP 189, REX 45

Oh no way. If I were Sal I'd much sooner give my last dollar than to sell the first ever Spyderco, for any reason. It's just too special. It should probably be in one of those glass cases with lasers and booby traps all around it that not even Catherine Zeta Jones could get through. Or in a solid S110V safe (no Spyderhole) with a secret order of knife nuts sworn to protect it. Not me though, I am not worthy.

My grail should be in the works and we saw a proto of it sell on Fleabay so it is in fact real.
