I'm a cop too. I never took offense- In fact, I really liked the PIG. I really wish I'd bought one when I had the chance. I've never found another one at any price less than astronomical- New or used!
Hi LEOFozzy, keep your eyes on ebay--I think 2 have been offered on there in the last 2 weeks or so. :)

There isn’t any symbolism. The sea is the sea. The old man is an old man. The boy is a boy and the fish is a fish. The shark are all sharks no better and no worse. All the symbolism that people say is ****.

The knife I've coveted longest is a left hand PE Harpy. I have actually seen a photo of one belonging to a forumite yrs ago, but he wasn't parting with it (would you???).

Also, a slab-side Harpy would be a welcome find (again, only pics seen). :(

Interesting that I would have one of the holy grails, a PE S30V Gunting, that was for a while my EDC with no rotation. Now that I have a chief who wants our knives totally concealed, it sees less carry. The ramp was eating my uniform shirts anyway. Before anyone asks, it's a keeper. People ooh and aah about the Wave feature, but the Gunting's ramp is superior, IMO. I have one of the blue-handled Guntings, too, with the sharp-cornered ramp but dull blade, intended for LE and corrections use inside facilities where sharpened blades are not allowed. Those were available new only directly from Bram Frank, to LEOs and COs. I got mine from a fellow LEO. My Spyderco-related holy grail would be a custom Snody Ronin and trainer set, made by Mike Snody himself. I have four Spyderco Ronins now, and am working on a couple more. I don't think I will ever catch up with Dr. Snubnose, though.

Nice family photo! :) Between my son and I, we have 4 Guntings, two trainers, and one blue LEO. I had sheaths custom-made by Survivalsheath.com, and got a nice carbon-fiber-look sheath from Mike Sastre. Yes, I do wish I had bought more Guntings before they went out of production! Daily carry knives can be lost or damaged all too easily, and so I take great care with my Guntings.

I have always wanted an "Eyes-Pick".
I believe it was a P.I.G. era Police with a dagger style blade.
Anyone else ever hear of it, or is it a figment of my twisted :spyder: imagination??

I would also love to get a PIG model Police. It's been on my list of must haves for a long time but I've never found one for a decent price.

Time for me to choose a new "Grail" after finding all 3 of the C32 Spur varieties and a C09SATU Tufram CoPilot.

My new "Holy Grail" of Spyderco knives is a C41S Operation Enduring Freedom tan Native. :)

Spyderco C41GPBL. Blue G-10 handled Native with the PE blade with no etching.
It's better to have knife and not need it than to need a knife and not have it.

:spyder: PE Lum chinese. I know that there's a zdp version coming out but after finding the zdp delica so bloody difficult to sharpen it's a false grail to me and I'll probably skip it all together. I also wish I'd bought a black yoji to go with my smurf killer. :spyder:

I've reached the point where I can honestly say there are no older models I have any real desire, much less a passionate one, to add to my collection. There's not a single one which has been announced or rumored that really has me eagerly anticipating its release either.

So, at the moment, my "grail search" involves attempting to find someone willing and able to heavily customize one of the new CF Stretches. Salvage the liners, backspacer, and lockspring, replace the blade with a straight spined one in Odin's Eye Damasteel, the lockbar with an undented one, the CF slabs with pinned SS bolsters with something "pretty yet practical" nestled in between them. :) Still vassilating back and forth between sambar stag and highly figured wood for that last, but I figure that I have at least until I find someone to do the work to sort that out. :D

IIRC, Sal commented once a few years back that there is only one and that it was reground from a serrated one as a gift from Sal to someone.
