Ladybug 3

#1

Post by surawut »

Hey, I got the new Ladybug 3 here already. This little knife is amazing. What I have is the SE version. It is very sharp out of the box. It seems to me that the blade profile is quite efficient. I feel much less drag when do the push cut comparing to the SE Finch. When doing the aggressive cut, like hose, Ladybug 3 doing very well. It is more aggressive than Finch.

The handle is exactly the same as Jester. So there is no comment there. The weight is seems slighly heavior than the original Ladybug.

I really like the ergo of this little knife. The hole is much bigger now, and I can open it one hand easily. I have a small hand though. Comparing to Finch, the hale opening is much smoother. This might due to the round hole. The jinging provide a good traction. The angle of the balde on the hump also comfortable when holding using thumb pushing. I feel more secure.

Anyway, I do not have camera with me now. When I have it, I will share them with you.

I handled the :spyder: Ladybug 3 on the Amsterdam mini-show, and I think you are right about it. It opens very easy (I have medium sized hands) and the Jester-handle is perfect for it.

I have to call Adola (the importer for the Netherlands) whether they already have the lightweight in stock. The :spyder: Ladybug will also make a perfect knife for my wife (not to big, and since she has smaller hands it will be even easier to operate for her).

I called them today and they told me that they have the Lightweight PE in stock, but not yet the Lightweight SE. They should have it within two months or so (they will order new knives in a couple of weeks + the delivery time). So I need to have a little patience.

REI sometimes carries Ladybugs (though obviously my local one only had the previous non-VG-10 generation the last time I was there a month or so ago), and I have a $50 gift card for REI burning a hole in my wallet.

As soon as the L-3s make it to REI, I'm pouncing. Maybe one each PE and SE...

Sal or Taz, don't suppose you know if REI ordered any of the new ones?

Wow. I may snag one of these to put on the end of my newly completed cobra stitched keychain.

hehe sorry Derkomai, i was just trying to make u salivate some more... ;) :p
ya know the Ladybug3 has kinda grown on me.....the splinter/picker tip like on the Delica3 seems to have much more utility (on such a small blade) than the upswept point/tip on the Jester.....so besides the superior steel, the Laydbug3 is another superb example of :spyder: -refinement.....
