Bob Lum "Chinese" folder.

#1

Post by Carlos »

Is the Chinese folder still targetted for a late September release. I am trying to organize my knife budget and Spyderco has too many goodies available and forthcoming.

Also, any word on Sal's in-house MBC design -- the Temperence and Temperence Jr.?

Thanks.

hi Carlos. Chinese Folder is still scheduled for late SEP delivery. Since we can't deliver everywhere in one day, It will be a steady shipping process. first ordered, first delivered. Collectors will more than likely get theirs first.

Sal's "Temperance" designs (2 folders & one FB) are waiting in line for a production schedule. Probably not before next year.

Thanks for the info. I'll be lying in wait for the Lum. :-)

I guess "Gunting" goes onto the shopping list before "Temperance."

Thanks again.

That will be the "medium" size, right ?

Chinese folder? Hmmm... I've seen Bob's tanto, pretty piece of work. How does the Chinese folder look like? Will it be priced like the tanto?

Handle will be(last time I heard) green almite with pattering.
Golden or yellow bamboos or bats(some told that it is a lucy animal in China) on that green background.

Green almite? Hmmm... Sounds interesting. Bat motifs? Aiyaaah! Whatabout Dragon or Tiger? The Chinese are proud to display these as part of their culture... (:

I took a couple of pictures of the Lum-Chinese prototype at the Blade Show.

Green Almite, liner lock, clip holes drilled for tip up or tip down (my preference in a liner lock) carry, and, at least on the prototype, no bat.

I was hoping for the bat. :)

IIRC Sal said that there were problems getting the bat to stick to the Almite :(. I should've sent R&D one of my kid's sticky lollies, stickiest things I know. Only known solvent is child's saliva, and whose going to let a kid suck their knife handle :).

BTW I've been hanging out for the Chinese Folder for over 2 years now, can't believe it's only a couple of months away :D.

Really (<b>Chinese Folder </b> ) I'm surprised (<b>Chinese Folder </b> ) that it (<b>Chinese Folder </b> ) hasn't (<b>Chinese Folder </b> ) cropped up somewhere (<b>Chinese Folder </b> ) in our (<b>Chinese Folder </b> ) conversations. Maybe I'm (<b>Chinese Folder </b> ) not as excited (<b>Chinese Folder </b> )about it as (<b>Chinese Folder </b> ) I thought I (<b>Chinese Folder </b> ) was.

Anything but the bat! Why stick a bat? I think a laser-etched seal of Lum's Chinese initial would be really awesome on the blade. If I ever lay my hands on this knife, I'll have a dragon motif engraved on it... <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

The Bat was selected by Bob as it is a good luck symbol, however, no Bat. Couldn't make it stick to the Almite.

Large version will depend on rection to medium size.
