Post by Pistol Pete »

Hello. I just came across this forum while looking for a discontinued Spyderco Blak-Ti Police model. I bought my first Spyderco in Grand Junction, Colorado while on vacation skiing over 20 years ago. I found them in a knife shop in the mall there. I was thrilled since I'd only read about them and they were nowhere to be found in Arkansas where I live. As a matter of fact no one even knew what they were there at the time. I carried one for years and even sold some for a while. As a matter of fact, Mr. John Jensen was the distributor I dealt with. I couldn't believe it when his name came up while reading some threads. The Police model was always my favorite and most often carried. I've still got a couple of his limited editions such as a US Border Patrol model as well as some now discontinued models. These include a Tuffram aluminum handled model, Titanium handled ATS-34 50/50 blade model, Blak-Ti coated model and a G-10 handled version with straight ground blade. I also have a Gary Blanchard engraved model, one with a bone handle with engraved web and spider and two other engraved models. One was done by a gentleman from Colorado who did some for Spyderco when they presented them to law enforcement officers who won police officer of the year awards. The other was done by a guy I met at a local gun show who hand engraved it in a floral pattern. Sorry for going on and on. I look forward to reading and seeing pics of everyone's knives.

Weclome, Pistol Pete.

I'm a relative noob to this site myself(although I've been a big fan of Spyderco knives for years). I think you'll find as I did that this forum has some of the most informative, friendly and helpful(and seemingly caring) individuals that you could ever hope to find online. I thoroughly enjoy this site almost as much as I enjoy my Spydercos...

P.S. This is a copy and paste job from another newbie's first post, but I mean it so it's worth being said again...

Hi Pete! Im a newbie myself, and I must officially inform you that selling knives is (for some crazy reason) prohibited on this board. However, if you ever care to sell any of your knives...I cannot say more! Great pix, and welcome!

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome. I really do appreciate it. I'll try to do better for my next picture post. However, I'm just getting started on the whole picture taking thing. That's my wife's deal. I usually just stick to buying guns, knives and flashlights and at least reading about them! ;)

Wouldn't it be great if Spyderco and either Surefire or Streamlight teamed up for a set like the Emerson/Surefire set? How about a Scorpius and a Scorpion? Or a Kumo and a Kroma?

Drooling.....

Or better yet, a knife flashlight and 1911 combo! How about a Kimber, Spyderco and Surefire?!

Very nice pics as well.

I love my SS Police/SE a lot. Would love to carry it all the times if it wasn't such a NKP unfriendly knife  :(
