Like to add my thanks to Sal, Eric, Ed and the rest of the Spyder crew. And, of course, to UK Ken and his helpers from British Blades.
Thought you might be interested to see the gift which the British Blades members presented to Sal on Sunday. It was made by one of our members, Colin, and looked even better in the flesh.......

A Great Weekend

Post by UK KEN »

A big thank you to Gail, Sal, Eric, Ed and Jur for coming over to the UK! :D

The protos were remarkable  2007/8 is going to be an expensive year for me.

Listening to Ed talk about the cutting competitions made me wonder if it would be possible to get some of our UK makers involved with a "cutting competition open challenge" here in the UK. It would be incredible to hold a competition in Sheffield????? We would have a lot of catching up to do but I bet we could give our cousins over the pond a run for their money!

I'd better go and get The General out of bed and get him off down to Wales! We didn't get to bed until after 06.00......you know what it is like when you are enjoying yourself. :)

An excellent weekend! :D

Regards, Ken

For newer members here:

It is :spyder: tradition that Ted, and others who attend the Amsterdam show, get to be first with pics of prototypes and new models.

Hi Guys - on behalf of Spyderco I would like to thank all those who came out to Leeds and visited the mini show. We (the spydie crew) also had a fantastic weekend. First the BB meet in the Cardigan Arms and next day the mini show at the Royal Armouries and the curry diner.
Great admosphere and great camaraderie! Spyderco is still very sorry for what we thought to be a logistical problem with the shipment containing the catalogs and the gifts etc. It turned out however, that the UK Customs was holding the shipment and had it returned to the US...
Now that the shipment is not with me, I don't know yet how and when we will get the gift bags in the mail. Please bear with us, we will try our best to find a swift and fitting sollution.

Next on the agenda - the Amsterdam mini show - Let's hope that the spirit of Leeds will be transferred! I look forward to an other great Spyderco mini meet.

Thanks again guys!
Jurphaas. :)

Thanks guys, seems a shame that the only knife you can show is mine (there are far more deserving knives than mine to be shown (can't wait for some of the new ones :p ))
