20'th Anniversary Kopa

#1

Post by Sleeping Robot »

Hi all,

Thought some of you might like to see a very nice application of VG-10 that my wife is giving me for our 20'th anniversary (which is still a few months away). This was inspired by Jurphaas' engraved Kopa and Crickets. She's getting something shiny too, although not very sharp. :)

(Now here's hoping my image attachment works...)

Best regards,
Ron

Congratulations Ron! Fred did an outstanding job on this very nice KOPA. I hope it will serve you well and that it will become a hierloom piece in your family.
I had the feeling that Fred was also very pleased with the result of his work. He wrote me about it and included the picture.
A really very beautiful knife. Thanks for sharing.
Jurphaas. :)

That is beautiful, and even more so because it will have sentimental value as well! May both of you enjoy it for many years to come.

Thanks eveyone for the kind words and thoughts.

KSDbass: The engraving was done by Fred Carter in Texas.

Jurphaas: Thanks for all the info - originally as well as the latest update. Glad to hear Fred seemed pleased.

Deacon: Yes, I'm anticipating this being something with a lot of sentimental value over the years. Maybe there will be a grandson to give it to eventually.

flyguy: The problem is that she wants to hide it away and I want to play with it now! :)

Thanks all,
Ron

Hi all - Currently a discussion is going on about the looks of the KOPA series. It is a discussion about likes and dislikes and to tell you the truth, I don't get it.....
The declared intention of the KOPA series is to create a large variety of KOPA's in limited series of 600 pcs, with many different handle materials. The variety will be as wide as can be. Exotic woods, Micarta's, Gem stones, MOP and Abalone, Jigged Bone, Carbon fiber and G-10/G-11, Dama steel or Damascus/Ti-mascus, you name it.
But if you really want to embellish your KOPA - then look at RON's beauty and witness what a Masterpiece engraving like Fred Carters deep scroll engravings can do for your KOPA!
KOPA's ROCK! (All of them)
Jurphaas. :)
