Scratches-Getting them out?
Scratches-Getting them out?
Hi all-
Any suggestions for getting scratches "out" on the face of a AUS-8 blade(C52BMS)?
Buffing wheel?...Which "compound" is best? All suggestions appreciated!
The knife is NIB and before I b*tch to the seller, I want to see if I can get them out. They are slight...but "long" and parallel to each other.
I want to put my "own" scratches on my knives!! :D
Thanks to all who reply!

Thanks Dave(swede)-
I'm "new" everywhere! :D I just recently discovered "forums" about knives. I had no idea what I was missing!!
Is Flitz basically the "same" as Simichrome? The scratches are not deep...can't really feel them when I run my fingernail across them.
You mentioned SS handles...Would the same apply to blades?
Thanks again! :D

Thanks again Dave-
Do you know of a good "source" for Flitz, since you endorse this product? Perhaps I'll try that as well. I checked out their website and I can honestly say that I've never heard of the stuff. :D

Bought both. I can always use "it" for something. :D
I think Simichrome is a little more abrasive. Had my friendy Ace store order a case of it(they never heard of it).
Thanks again!

I really like Flitz!! It is a great product. It works very much like the Simichrome. If you have a Sportsmans warehouse close to you they carry Flitz.

Sorry...lol...Better? :D
New to this Forum and just now getting "the feel" of it.
Swede pointed out that...He didn't know where I was from.(I hadn't created a profile). I liked that particular "avatar" and when I "added" it. I realized swede had the same one and thought...No big deal.
As I stated on bladeforums...I've already found some great "sharpening threads".
All Care/Polishing/Sharpening...Experiences...Good and/or Bad....Welcome. :D
Thanks!!
