I have read most of the forum topics and no one hardly ever mentions the C05GP Standard with G-10 handle. Infact Spyderco's own website doesn't even show that model in their online catalog and neither does other Spyderco dealers.
What do you think about the Standard? Is there a reason this model seems to be so left out? Is it still being made.
I saw the Standard at a local knife store and was thinking about buying it. I also was looking at buying either the Calypso Jr. or the Delica if I didn't buy the Standard. It will be my first Spyderco and I will be using it as an everyday carry.
Also regarding a 50/50 edge or plain edge, what factors should I take into consideration in choosing one or the other. I am leaning towards plain edge because I am use to it.
I am hoping Sal and all you experienced Spyderco users could help me make an informed decision.
Thanks,
Michael
Choose one, C05GP Standard G-10, Calypso Jr. or Delica?

Michael, the G10 Standard has been discontinued which is why it's not listed on the website. However many posters to the forums rate it as their favourite small Spydie. Of the three my personal favourite is the Calypso Jr. It fits my hand better due to the choil and the flat grind makes it a superb slicer. Plus you can't beat VG10 steel. OTOH the steel liner in the G10 Standard does give it more heft if you prefer a heavier knife. On a small knife I prefer a blade which is either all plain (usually) or all serrated (only my Harpy). I don't think a 50/50 gives enough of either type of edge to be useful. Hope this helps.
