What's your favorite spydie?

Most useful spydie...why???

Personally, my favorite spydies are the Delica 4 (any edge type) and the Native CE.

I believe my most useful spydie is any model that is serrated ;) ...just so d**m useful for my basic EDC needs and work.

How bout' you, my fellow spydie bros and sisters??? :D :p :)

:D :D
:p :p

My current favorites are my Pacific Salts. It's kind of a toss-up between the PE and the SE. They are easy to maintain and inexpensive enough that I'm not afraid to use them.

My favorite Spyders are my Manix... and now my Millie. I would say they are also the two most useful Spyders I have. Probably due to their blade length and solid designs. Both are pretty heavy-duty and it would take a lot to send them to the "big knife repair shop in the sky."

My Dodo follows closely behind.

It's hard to pick a favorite knife. It always changes with me. It's been the Manix since I got it, but I've been looking to get a Chinook III, and I know I have a Lava on the way as Christmas gift... so it's hard to say where the dice will fall in the end.

Current Spyders: Civilian, Matriarch, Endura 3 CE, Endura 4 CE, Endura 4 SE, SS Endura 4 SE, Lava, Manix CE

Spyders of the Past: ATR, BlackHawk, Bob Lum Tanto, Chinook 3, Dodo, Gunting, Karambit, Lil Temp, Manix PE, Para Mili, Ronin, Yojimbo, Mili, Native

My Favorite is the Ronin...Most useful is my Ladybug CE cause I can do most every simple chore with it and not scare the heck out of people while using it......Doc :D

probably my tasman salt is the most versatile and essential knife i'd want to have no matter where i might be...

other than that, depends where i am...

in africa -- mili

except during the 7-month rainy season -- pacific

in delaware, unemployed -- jess horn ZDP

american wilderness -- native (i'm restricting myself to 3" or under on purpose...)

SD -- scorpius

in the city -- jess horn ZDP or lum chinese

in the kitchen -- mili

i'm guessing, though, all of this will change after i get my SE D4 ZDP for christmas...

The Delicas, Enduras, and millies, BG42 in my case. I carry others but these are the most utilitarian to me. For pure favorites I like the R2, BG42 millie, Stretch, Volpe, and Navigator 2. When the carry of fixed blades is legal my plain, black bladed temperance is sure to be there strongside in front of my Glock, S&W etc. Joe

At my job I have to cut a lot of tie rips, plastic fibre straps and strings of polyethylene.

After using different Spydies(Delica, Endura, Para; all serrated of course :D ) I discovered that my Tasman Salt/SE is the most useful blade for this type of cutting ;)

Off duty it's the SS Police/SE for me :)

My favorites are Persian, Caly3, Kopa, Dodo, and Adventura. Most used are Persian, Caly3, and Adventura. Also Spyderco kitchen knives getting a lot of use.

D4 and Native 1, both PE. Perfect size for me, both blade shapes and steels will cut anything I'm likely to put in front of them all day long, and both are easy to touch up on the 15 degree Sharpmaker setting.

83mm Manix for heavier knife chores around a campsite or in the woods.

Paramilitary. Choil grip for detail work, no choil grip for hard cutting but the handle isn't too long. Flat ground, compression lock. I love it.

Delica, it has the right size for me, is very, very sharp and is easy to carry.
My Wave came in this morning and playing with it more adictive than smoking.

Endura (in the many variants, all SE of course) is the best knife for my needs. Never send a small knife to do a big knifes job.
Cheers, and Happy Yule!

The winner and still CHAMPION: The C-44

#19

Post by JD Spydo »

The winner and still Champion in my humble opinion is the C-44 big Dyad. With truly the best of both blade worlds I just have to be a spokesperson for the most advantageous Spyder out there

In second place it is a draw at this present time. It is a flip of the coin between the C-52 Burgundy ZDP Caly Jr. & my invincible G-10 handled Harpy. Kind of like what the old beer commercial used to say "IT JUST DON'T GET ANY BETTER"

But there are very few cutting chores that the big Dyad can't readily handle.

Favorite is definately Calypso Jr. (Micarta)
I can't wait until the new run of Jrs. with ZDP and black FRN comes out.

BTW are those $75 pre-orders on ebay (flamesnknives) legit for the new Jr.?

Most useful is probably my Dragonfly. I work in an office and don't have any real heavy cutting chores. Also can't carry anything large/noticeable. Not to say that the Dragonfly can't handle big cutting chores before I get flamed!
