Future Sprint Runs ?

#1

Post by Manix Guy 2 »

Hello everyone ! The new year is around the corner and some Sprint runs will be coming our way . What new Sprint run knife would you like to see in the future ? It is nice to see classic runs on a yearly basis .

Ti + CF, full flat grind, with primary edge at max 25 degrees inclusive (for ease of sharpening at Sharpmaker's 30 degrees (only very small part of blade is being sharpened)) (I'm hard to please, aren't I? :) ):
  • Native
  • Police
  • (somewhat larger) Walker
  • (mini)Manix
  • Stretch (we will probably see this one, won't we Sal?)
  • Calypso

Interesting comments . I would also like to see another Sprint of the Police in a super upgrade someday like the last CF version offering in left and right hand .

Sprint runs I would like to see:

Mas Ayoob C60 in G-10 or Peel Ply CF
Police and Rookie in dark blue G-10
Dodo in ZDP-189 or M4

I am also looking forward to the Stretch sprint, since the SS/Kraton insert handle was the primary reason I never considered it.
I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.

I agree with Yablanowitz - A Blue G10 Rookie would be SWEET :D

Updated J.D. Smith & Jot Singh Khalsa would be cool.

1. a full flat ground police with g-10 and a ZDP blade, spyderco NEEDS a new police variant.
2. a new stretch ( this one is not a dream ;) )
3. this one is a dream, a dragonfly with polished CF, Ti bolster, and a mirror polished blade.

5 out of the first 11 are looking for a new Police varient and 3 wanting a sprint run Rookie. I carry SE G-10 Police converted to TU, RH and LH carry and I have converted many, many more over the years (both SS & G-10).
If there are 2 spyders that deserve rebirth and rejuvination these are the ones. Bigkahunasix

I had a dream last night where I saw a forest green FRN dodo in a catalog. I'm not sure what it meant. I personally love the dodo the way it is, but maybe with a couple upgrades :D

Other than that, Maybe a navigator with a reverse S blade. I have yet to be able to get a meerkat with the same.

Lordy,Lordy ,Lordy!
I guess I will type this yet again.
I would love to see a small run of either the Native or Military in a high end G10 and Ti framelock.

G10 Police in ZDP-189, with holes to move the clip around.

Spyderhawk in G10

Sheepsfoot Manix (oh wait that wouldn't be a sprint run huh?)

Plain edge Rescue Jr., this would absolutely rock to the fulleest degree!

G-10 Native (flat ground with no swedge would be nice, but then it may be too close to the Caly III)

Would like to see a Dodo sprint, but I guessing it's way too soon for that.

Dodo more than anything else. Something as simple as just a different color of G-10 would be enough for me, a new blade steel would be even better. Idealy I'd like to see a Dodo in full SS, but I doubt that sort of thing would be seen on a sprint run.

Would it be too much wishing for titanium?

By the time that comes out, I should be able to afford it :D

Edit: Make that blue anodized titanium :D
