Regarding "Very Small Harpys":

Nope. Just the one size. As far as I know, there's only been the one size.

Yes, I know what a Plan Edged knife is, I just hadn't thought about that yet.

Well there has been discussed a lot about if the knife was Serrated or Plain Edged, some say the serrations are only visible on one side of the knife, others say the scene was dark and you couldn't see the knife well, etc, etc.

Anyway, thank you.

About the small Harpy's, I'd say Hannibal Lecter used a smaller Harpy than 16 cm's. But it could be the way he's holding her. The knife looks so small though, smaller than the Harpy I have.

I reviewed the balcony scene on the 'Hannibal' DVD, as well as the next one where the Sardinian assassin buys the farm. The Harpy in question seems to be smaller than 16cm, and the blade looks to be the non-serrated model. Check it out...

Hi Ruxton ~ Here's the good news... The PE harpy is included as an SKU item in Spyderco's 2002 dealer's catalog! *yeee-haw!*
Think it should be available in the months to come.. Hey, the Hannibal scene was AWESOME!

Hmmmmm. I was sure I saw a plain edge FRN Harpy at the shop last week. They had a G-10 serrated that I've been trying very hard not to buy. (buy me. buy me. buy me.) ****. Those voices again. I'll stop by the shop tomorrow and see (buy me, buy me, buy me). Then again, it may not be a good idea. OK OK I'll go and see. I'll just look. For you guys. I. I. I. I won't buy the G-10. I won't buy the G-10. I I I, **** that G-10 is nice.

I’m not coming to this forum anymore. It’s too **** expensive. Sure I live in Japan and so I sometimes am checking for things like plain edge ladybugs or non serrated Harpy’s and the like. Well, all this research has led to a new SS Police, G-10 Civilian, Cricket, and just today, a G-10 Harpy. For years I was happy with my G2 Police and Hunter, and now look at what has happened. What’s worse is that I have plans to get others! As I was in the shop today checking on straight edge Harpy’s, I had to buy the one in G-10 with serrations. Then I saw a G1 Police with an Almite handle, and a G-10 Police with the flat ground blade. The horror. The horror. I blame you people, but most of all, I blame Spyderco. Why couldn’t you just be happy making low-end POS knives that fall apart, don’t cut, and look bad. Then I wouldn’t be tempted. I think Spyderco has got to drop their quality. It’s the only thing that will save me. Also, I’m not doing anymore research over here to help anyone out. Nope. Don’t even suggest I visit my local knife shop. I won’t do it…unless it’s a real important question like: “how many large serrations does a Cricket have?” or “do the shops in Japan use boxes or clamshell packaging for the Spyders?” or some other totally vital thing that will cause me to visit the shops.
Oh, and by the way, the straight edge Harpy here is FRN only, so it’s a Merlin. Any questions? Oh please oh please oh please. Those two Police models are calling me. Must stop. Must show restraint. Must….BUY.
