Spyderkeys

The boys got together for one last hurrah before disbanding. The exposure wasn't the best so I'll retake it with a faster shutter speed later when the light box is reassembled.

Manual shots of a couple of the Spyderkeys a.k.a. Hummingbirds show a little better color and detail:

In the archives, I noticed some speculation regarding the boxes for Spyderkeys and their rarity. The boxes themselves were plain white topper boxes (no Spyderco logo or marking anywhere) and had blue labels that remind me of a Dymo label maker tape. It lists the Model number - i.e. 3002-W - followed by the scale type and edge config - i.e. Wood Scale Spyder Edge. The knives themselves rested in a blue velvet ring/jewelry box with a white satin lining inside the lid.

You don't see the Lil' Hummers much anymore so hope you enjoy the pics.

Sweet Java! Guess I better start paying even more attention than usual to eBay. :D

You don't realize how small the Mini Mariner is when you see it by itself, but it makes the Hummingbirds look almost "Worker" size by comparison. One other point, some of the blue velvet boxes have the Spyderco "bug" logo and the word Spyderkey imprinted in gold on the white satin lining of the lid. I have some that came with the jewelry boxes, some without it, but only one of them has the logo and name.

Just paring down the collection. My space here in Cali is a wee bit smaller than the spread in Tejas. :)

Hi Java, long time no see. Thanks for sharing those great pics. Very nice assortment, it must have been pretty difficult to gather all those fine pieces.

I apologise for the quality but it's the best this bad photographer could do with a camera phone.
Two of my spyderkeys came in boxes with logo and spyderkey text.
