Was an Enlisted Army Medic (I actually worked :) ) and currently work as a Clinical Lead for a Hospital Clinic system. While in the Army I carried a Remote Release on my right LBV strap for imagined medical/sling-loaded gear/rappelling/fast-roping emergencies. Carry a Blue Handled Rescue 93mm at work now. Waiting for the British Racing Green ZDP-189 Delica so I can get it in a Serrated Edge. The Delica has always been my favorite size Spyderco for EDC.

You forgot the ocasional blood loss. I've been a collector for 9 months now and have yet to have buyers remorse. That says something right there.

Gonzo,
You do have all the symptoms but the sickness is still to come. 51 on hand as of this writing. Try it, you'll like it.

Hi Gonzo,

Thanx for the history and the kind words.

We make our knives for using rather than collecting. Reliable high performance is the offering. We do have a few collector pieces but that's mostly to serve that end of the market.

The fact that people would actually collect our "user" models is surprising, but we are pleased and honored that some would choose to do that.

My advice would be to turn off your computer and go have a beer. This is a strange group. Intense, but strange ;) .

Sorry, but once bitten by the :spyder: there is no help known to mankind! You simply must weather it out. To some it does less damage, to other folk it remains in their system until the grim reaper comes for them.

Still other's sell their kid's to get another :spyder: fix! A very sad state of affairs, indeed!

Hey buddy, I'd love to help, but I have my own addiction to feed :D

Right now, I have a chinook and a firebyrd on order. I was buying the chinook as possible trading/sale fodder, but I will have to see if I can even let it go!

And once again, I have to thank you sal. Not only are you the head of the only company that designs knifes to be used and used hard, but most are quite affordable to even college kids spending all our time studying engineering. I'd like to buy you a beer, but my beer money is already spent . . . on spydies.

You know you got the spyderbug bad, when you're selecting spydies for different 'roles'; work/weekend/dress/expendable/travel etc... ;)

I would love to participate more in my own thread, but shortly after posting it, my wife and I went out for a ride on our bikes (hybrid Treks). I had a wipeout and shattered my right elbow. It knew it was going to be bad when I reached down and felt the bone sticking out. So, I'm all bandaged up and typing one-handed while on some serious pain meds. Hope what I'm typing makes sense later.

Get well quick was it your strong side or weak side. Either way you'll get plenty of down time to play around and open you Spydeys.

Ouch, I just tried to open my Jess horn with my left hand. Almost cut my fingers. That just prompted me to learn to open my Spydeys on my weak side!
Thanks!!
