Any trouble yet?

Has anyone been affected by new fears of edged tools? Of course there is the airport issue...we know about that. What I'm curious about is your daily life, work, or hobbies. Has your blade enthusiasm been labelled as "undesireable behavior"?

I was using my Calypso in my physics lab for about an hour today. We had a little conversation about legalities and stuff but no one freaked out at all. It was quite pleasant. :-)

Now is a really good time to be a good ambassador for the knifenuts hobby. It
should concern all of us that we are all in the harsh spotlight of mis-informed
public opinion. How we behave and represent our hobby now will largely
the future os the hobby. That's why being "in your face" about carring a
knife will not bode well for the hobby. Carry it, use it ,but don't flaunt it.

I was cutting open a stack of mail with my Delica before History Class and two students gave me funny looks and then one of them said: "Are you allowed to have that here?" and I replied: "As far as know my mail has to get opened." And gave a little shrug.
