It happened some time ago and its one of my favorites, but I think Sal is steering away from coated blades due to their uncertain longevity and the warranty implications thereof <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

I have one. They are really hard to find. I am thinking about selling mine.

Yeah Ferret - The black coating was throughly discussed in the "Spyderco Story" Think it was a good option but I guess when it comes to abrasion - scratches ain't the pleasing to the eye... I saw a blackened police sometime ago and I think it was AWESOME! <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>
