Gaggle of "Gunting's" spotted in Fayetteville NC!!

#1

Post by Blades »

I was at the local gun & knife show today, looking at some new knives, wandering around, when I saw a pocket clip that looked like the "Gunting" spoon clip. Hmm....3 or 4 of the people standing in the group had the same clip hanging onto their pocket also. So I decided to bother them and see if it actually was a "Gunting". You betcha!! A gaggle of them!! I meet "Kenpoman"

from Bladeforums(CommonSense Self Defense - Street Combat) and a few of his friends. He had one of the prototype "Gunting's", someone else had a "Gunting" and the trainer, and then there were a few other "Gunting's" that came popping out. It was cool! Of course I had no "Gunting"

A very interesting knife. Thanks for the quick "demo" "Kenpoman".

I don't know if I will get one or not. The Shabaria is #1 on my list, and the Chinese Lum is #2. The Gunting is a specialized piece of carry equipment, and I don't have the knowledge to use it to its full extent. I would love to have one just because it is designed for non-lethal defense. I think that would help in any situation where you had to defend yourself. Anyways, no time soon will I have one.

Dude - imagine the Gunting thud-thumping in your mind and all you ever want is this knife in your warm pocket... I guess the other choices are as good! I will add Mr Lum's Chinese folder into my arsenal.. *hee-hee!*

Hmmm I guess Kenpoman didn't do a good job of showing you if you still want another SPYDIE..LOL!
Use of a GUNTING is not rocket science...
its based on gross motor skill movement so that ANYONE can do it regardless of training...
Use of a knife closed ( a GUNTING first!) is a great option..Cutting is easy and the only option with any other knife...
Don't get me wrong you picked great knives as your other choices...

By the way..don't feel bad..at this rate no one has GUNTINGS but a few of us...
There's demand but no knives...
Unfortunately we'll have to wait for the next batch to hatch I guess...

I have wanted a Chinese Folder since I saw it at the 98 Blade Show. A loong time. So the Gunting is on the list, but way down the list. I'm 3 years waiting for the Chinese Folder.

Tell me about it :D. I think we both got bitten about the same time. Not much longer to wait now though .

LOL
I didn't think about it like it was food. Good point Bram.
I still want my Lum. I still have the "Blade" magazine that showed Mr. Lum's custom Chinese folder. I thought I would never own a Chinese folder from Mr. Lum since I didn't have the big $$$, but now I can have one!!!
HAPPY HAPPY!! JOY JOY!!
