Has there been any concensus as to if and when the endura/delica will get changed to VG10? Didn't see a defenitive response on prior posts and was hoping to plan future purchases accordingly...;}

Yeah, I'd really like a VG-10 Endura before Big Brother makes them illegal. Well let's hope not. Keep your edge!

Wow, if they make a VG10 Endura, I could replace my current one with that when it wears out. I reckon that'll be in around 2020. At that point, or if I lose it before then, I'll get the new version. :-)

Good news Ryan.
I don't suppose that this oes for the VG-10 Delica as well ?
And I don't suppose that you could nudge the powers to be to make them G-10 scales as well ? <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

This thread is from ten years ago. Check the date before you reply in a searched thread.

I'm surprised this thread didn't start disintegrating once exposed to the atmosphere.

OMG! Of all the zombie threads that have come to life recently, this is one of the most pointless resurrections.

Like the VG10 but the Endura in ZDP is the cats meow. The skeletonized stainless liners keep it light and make it strong. Brief stropping makes this one sharp puppy. G10? VG10? What's that? :eek:

I realize it is from 10 years ago, that is why my first post was '10 years ago...'

I just thought it was interesting that in 2001 people were excited about rumors of vg10 steel for the endura. FF to 2011 and vg10 is NBD. In 2021, zdp will probably be a boring, common steel.

I found it fascinating, I didn't ask you to be fascinated though. If you didn't think so, click the back button and move along.

I sorta liked the blast from the past, and still like the VG10 :) Spyderco make it one tough metal.

I seriously read the first post at least 5 times trying to figure out exactly what i was reading before i thought to look at the date. This one really caught me off guard. :D

I think perspective is always a great thing to have, and looking back at where things have come from is a great way to get perspective. We truly are living in a spoiled age as far as this hobby goes. The steel options out there are so amazing that a truly awesome steel like VG10 is practically the base steel these days, when 10 years ago it was something to look forward to.
