Sorry if I came across as rude. The way you said it it seemed like you were trying to burn some guys from a thread that was ten years old. It is interesting to see what it was like then and wonder how we will think of now ten years into the future.

I heard a rumor that Spyderco is working on knives that have steel that wont rust... :)

think about what it means for vg10 though. vg10 took over the entire steel game.

vg10 was this crazy new supersteel that would replace ats-55 or aus-8 and it actually was so amazing that it seriously became the standard for all the new japanese knives. To us, if a knife has to be AT LEAST vg10 for it be considered good. We think of it as the most basic steel. imagine hearing rumors about it and wanting it like we want s90v and ZDP.

Wow. It is nice to travel back in time once in a while. Throws interesting light on current preferences, norms and standards.
