There was a Spyderco MOUSE about a month ago that fetched $258 on EBay. I also heard from a guy I trust that he saw one go for over $270 on an online auction. I got one and I am wondering if I should get a safety deposit box for it  I have a feeling that this won't regress anytime soon either. There just were not very many of the original Spyderco MOUSE models made period.

Because you know that a number of them that were bought were put to use. So I bet there probably aren't over 300 ( if that many) out there to be had. It is probably even more rare and hard to get than the Titanium Peter Herbst model.

It has been strange that there have been an inordinate amount of them show up on Ebay here of late

I really wish I had bought 10 of them when they were being closed out at 39.95.

There is a "slightly used" one going right after it for a fraction of the cost...

Makes you wonder... should I stock up on Poliwogs now? :)

That's the market price for one now. It's funny, but good for the sellers.

That is crazy. Anybody who is aware of some Mouse history knows that Tim Wegner now sells a better Mouse II at Bladetech for under $100 in G10 and S30V. and a Mouse Lite for even less.

Jeez. Let the buyer beware.

Keep wondering if some folks saw the auction a couple months back for the "Church Mouse" and think the regular ones are worth the same kind of money.

i was fortunate enough to acquire one from a fellow forumite and i think it's great to own a pint sized piece of :spyder: knife history. it's a safe shelf-er, but i think it would be a great design for edc...i guess i better look at blade-tech for that though. :)
to the deacon: wha the heck is a church mouse man?

One picture is worth 1000 words. Check the mouse pictured in this thread...

Note the Christian "fish" around the Wegner Design imprint on the blade. There were only a small number imprinted like that, for Tim Wegner.

I've got one in my collection. It sits right next to my "not a Lynx". :D :p

I've been watching these auctions very closely. I love the Spyder Mouse - I have two in the collection. But, at those prices, I don't feel comfortable using one of them. (A SS Cricket does the EDC job nicely.)

Can Spyderco produce another Mouse, or is that a Tim Wegner design exclusive?

Thanks,
SR

...The sellers!!!!

auction ended up at $305 for the "mint" while the slighlty used went off at a "modest" $222.50. Anybody ever read " The Psychology of Crowds"?

Garageboy....put down the Mouse and step away from the keyboard, ...must resist... :)
