I got it I got it!!!!!!!!!
I got my Meerkat, #123. I love it. The phantom lock is cool. Already handed it to two people and said "Ok now close it" and they can't figure it out. hehe Really nice, good size like the handles. Nice job Sal. Keep making them and I'll buy 'em.

Thanks for the pics, Chinook. Can you tell me about the similarities or differences between meerkats and mongooses? (mongeese?)

Looks like the meerkat might be a tad larger.

I've been a huge fan of mongooses ever since reading "Rikki Tikki Tavi" by Kipling. A great story!

The meerkat is a mongoose from South African savannas. About 12 inches tall. Eat bugs, snakes, rodents, even scorpions

I'm no expert on the two, butt the meerkat seems to have a highly developed social structure, a family or clan that hunts in a pack with lookouts, baby sitters and eat almost anything they can catch.

I watched a special once on PBS where a guy filmed their activities and he was tolerated so much so that a lookout would climb up on his shoulder for a better view.

MEERKAT MOTTO

Respect the Elders, Teach the Young, cooperate with the Family, Play when you can, Work when you should, Rest in between. Share your Affection, Voice your Feelings, Leave your Mark.

Hi Chinook. Where did you get that Meekat motto? Those were the reasons that we chose to name the knife "Meerkat", but your statement is ideal.

Hi Sal
I found it at www.meerkats.com
Pretty good motto when you observe their behaviour. Very strange butt lovable creatures.
