New Centofante

I just received a new Centofante in the mail and, I have to say, what a sleek knife!

I do find it harder to open one-handed than other models (even though I have fairly big hands for a girl), but its spear point is so elegant it makes up for it's lack of round-hole hold. Also, the SecureLock grants it an additional advantage.

I am actually not keeping this one for myself but, rather, I acquired it as a gift for a dear friend. Spyderco, I am sure, will have yet another fan.

I got my Centifonte 2 weeks ago. When I first started to carry it I didn't know what to think of it, but after using it for a while I have come to love it. It is a shame they had to discontinue it.

P. S. I'm talking about the triangular bladed Centofante. Not the new shell inlay model.

Yes, that's the model I just received today, the discontinued one. I have put it away so that it's not tempting me to keep it for myself.

I too was a long time coming to appreciate the Centofante II
I considered them to be pigstickers, or daggers butt after using them a bit, the design is far from that. It provides precise incisions and delicate controlled cuts much like a jigsaw can do more precise work than a circular saw. Great for slivers, and digging out that worm while saving the apple.

This is a picture of an older one I have.

That's a nice-looking knife, Chinook. Thanks for sharing it.

How come I never see these knives with color anywhere. I see almost only black, or no occsionally grey knives. Had no idea they put out an inlaid-type Centofante.

I've always thought the design of the Centofante was great for a gent's -- or lady's knife -- and I'm sure, able to hold its own in combat if need be, but absolutely nothing to hold the hand back from the blade if things got rough. While I know the odds of that are tiny, that's still the major reason behind my strong hand carry.

Hope your friend enjoys his/her new knife, Kahz. They're sure pretty.

The pic is actually one I pilferred. I do have a green Centofante tho. They were made with blue, black and green rubberized inserts. The blue model had a blue anodized aluminum frame.
A lot of my pix come from ebay. I just grab any good shots of knives that interest me.

The C25 and C50 are not made for hard stabbing, especially from a hammergrip. Good icepicks tho as long as you put your thumb over the rear of the handle.

The Stare, I hope my friend enjoys it too. If he does not, I will take it back anytime.

Chinook, nice knife! I like the different color, too. Thanks for sharing that.
