I know that we are not the average knife people here on this forum. We are Spydernuts! With the new MBC forum open now it got me to thinking (oh no look out). I know we don't want to be selling here on this forum, we don't want to upset vendors and Spyderco. But those of us here are more nuts and collectors, what about a "looking for" forum? A lot of us probably have a certain knife that we would like to have from spyderco that we can't find, we could let it be known what we are looking for and our other spyderbuddies might be able to help us locate something. Just an idea I had, of course I haven't had my morning coffee yet either so.....

I think that's a good idea. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

I don't mind the idea of trying to buy or sell knife on this forum, as long as that's second on the list...talking about knives being first. What I mean is, that if out of 400 posts, you try to sell a knife once, thats fine, because you would rather talk about knives, and sell only a couple times.

Get my drift? <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

a spydie-location page forum would be great...

buy/sell/trade/locate

This would provide us with an even greater chance to get them all.

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

If something like this should be set up, I believe it ought to be a separate forum, not part of this one.

If there is a place with lots of traffic that allows the selling of knives for free, there will be flocks of folks jumping aboard just to sell knives. I'm not at all anxious to go sifting through hordes of knives for sale threads looking for one for discussion.

From one, large, significant thing -- I think -- I am doubtful that anything of the sort will come to pass here. This is Spyderco's forum. One can easily connect with the Spyderco store and buy Spyderco knives. Because of natural situations, Spyderco must charge MSRP. I can't understand for the life of me why Spyderco would want to let a bunch of folks come in here and sell knives at lower prices. Seems to me like a giant bite out of their nose.

I sure wouldn't hold my breath on this one, and if I were in charge of Spyderco, would simply say, "Sorry. No."

I agree- this is Sals and Spydercos forum and if I were the one making the call I would say "No selling". What I'm suggesting is not a buying selling forum. How many of us "collect" Spydercos?? I for one have been bitten by the bug badly. However there are still Spydies I haven't found yet. Spydies that are not produced any more. More of a searching for forum, without clutering up the regular forum for those that don't collect or aren't interested in Spyderco history. Ok I'm not ranting just wanted to clear up my idea so it isn't taken the wrong way. Thanks for listening.
