Love the Vesuvius idea Sal. Plain edge with a burgundy frn and a silver bug inlay.
White frn is very cool too.

*white scales*
silver bug
-or-
red/white/blue bug inlay
-or-
the shell inlay, cut into a bug shape

all would catch your eye, and I would be proud to show it off.

great idea sal!

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

White FRN (I think "Ivory" would be preferable, if such a thing exists) with a silver bug and a polished steel clip.

Count me in.

I suggest minimizing the engraving on the blade since it is a small blade.

How about:

I'll take whatever is produced but i am not fond of white FRN . Would rather see burgundy, blue, red or green with silver bug and clip.

A Vesuvius with a SS Spyder inlay is very cool. White FRN is OK by me, but I would choose blue or dark green.

Okay, my understanding is that FRN Spydercos made in the US use Zytel, while Japan made Spydercos use Grivory. I checked and confirmed that Dupont does make ivory-coloured Zytel. I've posted an image below.

I think ivory would wear better over time than white for a knife that would get used.

What do you guys think?

I'd prefer ivory, but I could live with white.

I have no really strong preference as to which model we see- I would like to see a green (more like forest than O.D.) FRN handle. In reading prior posts to this thread I noted some interest in "Q" and "R" models. Sal, how feasible would it be to do a laser cut-out (Bug or year or ???) in the blade of say, a delica?

Just a thought 'cuz I'm getting at least one no matter what the knife turns out to be!! :D

I'm with Carlos, an off-white colour like bone or ivory would look better and also provide better contrast with the silver bug.

Why not some thing a little more patriotic. Red white and blue in the handle maybe. Something meaningful lazer engraved on the blade.

I'm thinking the $100 US range... 1.5can=1us... so 150 or so up here.

I have have seen the regular production model for $56.18 at Newgraham. I think between $80-$90 would probably be fair.

No offense but the white and ivory look horrible. In light of recent occurences I really feel that it should be patriotic. The ivory looks just so fake and plastic and cheap. I think it would be very out of character on a Spyderco knife and it just wouldn't be right.

Spyderholic has a great idea, some variation on that theme that Sal approves of would be fine with me.

Blue handle with red white and blue bug or shell bug is fine with me.
Sal when do you think something might be produced?
