What is a Spyder-Key or Spyderkey?

What is a Spyder-Key or Spyderkey?

Can anyone shed some light on what they are and when they were made? Were they the predecessors to the Ladybug type keychain knives? Anyone selling them?

We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

I guess I should comment on this thread since I took the picture in the first post. Spyderkeys/Hummingbirds were made in Seki City Japan. They were a limited run item like the Kopa that are in production today. They are hard to find today in any condition and I have not seen any in stores or websites. The last batch that I saw available were in Japan and those are long gone. The picture above is one of the knives that I brought back from Seki City, Japan. If I remember correctly there were 6-8 variations. No clips attached, strictly for the keychain. Nice items if you can find them.
