Self Defense Training Video

#1

Post by clipiteer »

Sal, I live pretty far from Colorado and will probably never get a chance to visit and take the MBC course. Would it be possible to make a self defense video? I know that nothing can compare to the actual class and live instruction, but could a video even begin to explain the basics?

Any info appreciated.

Dear Clipiteer:

Before Spyderco honored me by adopting my core curriculum as their MBC program I produced a video called "Fighting Folders" with Paladin Press. It contains all of the material presented in the MBC Level 1 course and a portion of the Level 2 curriculum. The sequel to this video, "Advanced Fighting Folders," will be a two-tape set due out in November. It will cover the rest of the material of Level 2 and portions of the Level 3 and Level 4 curriculum. Although these tapes are not formally endorsed by Spyderco as "MBC materials," they are pretty much the next best thing to a hands-on class. As you correctly pointed out, however, there really is no substitute for hands-on training.

For more information on these videos, please check www.paladin-press.com.

Thanks for your question.
