Hi
Whats up with all these microscopic knives: meerkat, salsa ect. ?
I understand you have to make some knives that will appeal to the everyday person, who is shocked at the sight of a 2 inch folder, but I also understand that me and a lot of other people dont care about offending rabid nuts. You know the kind I am talking about, the kind that have this false idealism OF A BIG SCARY< VIOLET KNIFE THATS JUST MADE FOR KILLING PEOPLE!!! I believe what made Spyderco what it is today, is that they did not care about doing something different, and did not care to molify the public with a sheeply friendly knife. I am not afraid of expressing my concerns on this forum, because i believe this forum is for Learning!
Sal, I have looked at the Salsa and Meerkat, and they are GREAT knives! Just dont want Spyderco to fall into the trap of trying to please everyone. Because not trying to please everybody, is what makes you the best out there!
Are there any plans for a larger knife? Are there any pics?
Sorry for the gripey post, But i felt it was needed. I doubt the rest will agree.

small knives......small knives , everywhere small knives
Check out the ATR. Clay posted a picture in a thread yesterday or today.
It is probably wise to keep in mind that Spdyerco is a business, which is affected by market trends. Look around. What are the latest big sellers? The EDC, the Chice, the Scallion, the new little SOG knife, the 2 new MicroTechs. Right now small seems to be floating the knife buyers' boats. Be silly to ignore that. Besides, it isn't as if Spyderco doesn't have some reasonably good sized folders.

Stare, All I am trying to say is, I dont want Spyderco to follow, but lead. I know Spyderco has to please its customers, but not be man pleasers. Do understand what I am saying? if you dont thats ok too

Samo, I am glad someone else likes big knives!

I have a Pegasus, and just bought a Cricket. Great little knives. The Pegasus I love. Its up there with my Chinese Folder. And the Cricket I'm getting use to. Its a sweet little knife also. But I still like to lug around my Endura or Shabaria.

KenN,
Thanks for the for the reply. I sure wish spyderco would make some new knives with 4 inch blades. A 10 inch FB survival knife would be nice to throw in too. I dont carry a FB for EDC, but it would be neat if Spyderco could do something along those lines.
I too, wish some of the MBC blabes could be brought up to 4 inches, because the are great knives.
Maybe we are just crazy Texans, but for some reason I doubt that

At least in Texas you have the option to carry a fixed blade. In North Carolina it has to fold, and be under a 4" blade for carry in a pocket. I could carry something bigger and/or fixed blade, but it would have to be open carry. It is not worth the hassle.
Hannibal,
Which knife did you want a picture of??
