Just thought it would be fun for the forum to design their perfect all round knife. The knife should have the greatest appeal possible for city slickers and country folk alike.
Here’s my attempt.
3 ½” blade length to comply with most laws.
The blade shape of the Delica but flat ground. I love hollow ground but flat ground is more versatile.
Plain edged, also for versatility.
VG-10 steel (**** that Calypso Jnr is sharp).
The handle shape of the Calypso Jnr with it’s moulded finger choil (?), although it could do with being about ½” longer to giver the little finger some purchase.
G-10 for the handle. I know it is more expensive but although not bad FRN just isn’t in the same league.
I would like to see the liner lock that is on the Military, but I’m not sure if the strength could be maintained on a smaller knife like this. Might have to settle for a standard lock back.
I bet you could sell this one by the bucket load.

For me, putting the compression lock on the Wegner would do. For more universal appeal, and because I believe it already has the compression lock, the not-Lynx may already have achieved that "perfect" designation. Will have to wait til it's release to say for sure.
Darn -- tried to put a pic of the Wegner and Lynx together. Thought it was small enough. But, it isn't showing. May have been too big.

The not-Lynx has a great feel in your hand. Balances nicely. Wickedly sharp (although I have not cut anything with mine). Can’t wait for the production model to come out.
Sal, any clue as to a production date? I KNOW that these things are written in soft pudding and cannot be relied on but just a hint. PLEASE!!

Personally I'm not a fan of patially serrated blades. I would rather carry two knive (one of each).

Hrm. Not thinking before I post, so let me just try brainstorming:
It'd have to be CPM440V. FRN handles, patterned bi-directionally (maybe an alternating forward/back, fitting together teardrop pattern -- I don't know why, but I just think it'd work well as well as look classy.) Dual liners, if you can do that with FRN. Lined lanyard hole.
Flat ground, absolutely no swedge (I love my Calypso Jr Ltwt, but it's hard to put serious pressure on the spine of the blade). Blade belly like the Gunting, except for a straight spine. 14mm hole, although part of it would probably be hidden by the handle -- make it as integral as possible, though.
Handle ergonomics like the Jot Singh Khalsa, but without that insanely huge choil (right term?) on the blade, and with a persian butt. Oh, and with a fingerguard, to counteract Murphy. Also, open down the back a la Gunting or Sebenza -- this unsung feature is one of my favorites. Makes it MUCH easier to clean.
