Fixed Blade Gunting

#1

Post by BRAM »

Frank @ Skunkworks has been working with me on getting a fixed Blade Gunting done..

We worked on a 5" and a 7" version and he's already talked to a custom maker to do the knives for us..

Well imagine my suprise when @ the Guild Show sAturday when Mike "Mickey" Yurco presented me with a regular size ( yup same as the GUNTING locked in the open position!)fixed blade GUNTING..

let me just say its balance is fantastic!!!

Its a great knife.

I love it...

Its 440 C with a very hollow grind that says very sexy and sharp!!!!

I told Mickey that he should be making these customs for the general public..

soooo if you want one you should contact him

@shorinki@aol.com

The Large fixed blade Guntings are coming soon..if you want to get one

contact Frank @ SKUCONSOL@aol.com

maybe they'll both come with krayton handles one day...

wow..fixed blade Guntings...

cool..

hmmmmmmm I'm still playing with it as I edit this post!!!

I dream of:

A variation on the fixed blade Gunting drone - smaller, slimmer keychain version a la Kubotan...

Bram has there been any thought on a olisi palad version of the Gunting/Spyderco concept?

Olisi Palad Gunting!

Any specs please? Metal or plastic?

If keychain, please locate keyring hole at the base of the horn a la Comtech Stinger to avoid painful and unnecessary "key whip" into the hand.

What you found is exactly like the custom versions..These are deluxe aluminum trainers as it says in Bobs ad...ROFL..Bob Burgee makes the official trainers for the GUNTING..
The Functional one from Spyderco is actually a DRONE..a working non biting version of the GUNTING..these from Bob @Training Blades are aluminum training blades and with Bob's Deluxe version ..yes an impact tool as well...

Bram,

I haven't checked with Mr. Yurco yet because I wanted to get word from the MAN himself, Mr. Gunting. Are the two of you collaborating on a "closed" version olisi palad? Thanks.

Hi Guys,
I'm working on an Olisi Palad version of the Gunting. One will look like a closed version of this knife. It will be a "fixed" blade model because, as of yet, I do not make "Folders".
I also have a few models on paper that will function as a Yawara type tool.I will finish them and send them to Bram first to get his O.K.

Mickey

P.S. I'm slow but they will get finished!

I left my Guntig to Engish dictonary at home. What's a Olisi Palad Gunting? If I had to guess I'd say it was a plastic trainer or CRMIPT.

OK..I guess its a habit not to actually read the posts..ROFL..
This is in the preceeding posts...<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>
Olisi Palid is a pocket stick..type object and the Gunting DRONE in a closed position or an open position would qualify..
A regular Gunting in closed position qualifies..

Mickey Yurco, custom knife maker extrodinaire & Guild Member and Edges2 make open & closed position trainers that because of the high quality of their productions can be used as impact tools, pocket sticks, olisi Paldids as they are..and a CLOSED version of the trainer is a very effective Olisi Palid or impact tool...

Peyton Quinn was willing and wanted to carry one as his pocket impact tool..
He put a world of hurt on some of those that thought he was kidding...ROFL..

see ya!
Thanks for asking..

I hope I was clear enough..IF not I'll try again...OK?????????
