You are right Vult it is crazy...only because you wanted micarta just one post ago, NOT because it isn't a GREAT idea. Darn mold technology. :D :spyder: :cool:VultureParade wrote:You're right, Zen. I, personally, love warnie blades. I think they can accomplish 99.9 percent of tasks, sharpen easily, and slice wonderfully.
They also look great!
It just seems like a shame to scrap the entire Dodo design because the blade shape didn't work out and maybe the handle needs a tweak or two.
The ball lock jives, the blade size is excellent, and the overall design of the handle works. I also hate to see a model with the wire clip go. We don't have enough of those as it is.
This may sound crazy, but I can't get it out of my head....
FRN flat ground warnie Dodo with a wire clip? Eh? Eh?
Too bad molds cost so much.

Well, this does suck. I cant say that i am suprised though, i dont think the dodo hit it over w/ the general crowd very well. I know most of my customers couldnt understand why they should pay $140 for a "Box Cutter". Dont get me wrong, I love my Dodo, but as with all great models it has to come to an end sooner or later. At least it had a good run, and all of us fans can now start buying all of the remaining ones up. All that i can say is thank you to Eric and the spydercrew for developing one of the best knives i have ever handled and will ever own. Lets all hope that some new "Super Dodo" takes its place.

I just don't get this one  ? Even all the ladies I know like the Dodo. I can't believe that isn't one that wouldn't be around for 10 to 12 years. I agree with Worker 9 you might as well start lobbying for a SPRINT run, "Customer's Appreciation" edition with ZDP-189. I don't really care if they do one in a CF handle because it is a great knife in G-10. Well I guess I need to get into "Hoard Mode". Trouble is I am in "Hoard Mode" for 3 other models already

I think just grinding off the recurve, and leaving the hawkbill point would have been pretty neat.
It would look like a Wharnecliffe Hawkbill Hybrid.
Straight blade which curves in the last 1/2" or so. Easy to sharpen, and still has the hawkbill utility.

 Hmmm...Axlis bro, I've been married for 11 years. We need to be a bit careful hear. Wives....well lets say sometimes they have better radar systems than we think. They usually find out things, when we don't want them to. Oh yeah, sometimes I think they plant bugs on us :D (I think my wife does anyway). Hope your wife enjoys her new spydie. :D
Take Care and God Bless Bro :)

I know it is naughty to wait until is dc'd to buy one, but now that I have I eagerly await my first ball lock :spyder: ! Everyone who has a dodo loves it. Can't really recall anyone decrying any inadequacies. Maybe it was another ahead of its time? Maybe we can hope for a Calypso like comeback. Did everyone see Sal is planning a new Calypso?
