Y’all, go to the linked thread to discuss the danger thing, save this thread for SAL’S BOMBSHELLS not user opinions.

Spy27 costs too much considering it performs basically exactly like s35vn, except maybe with a bit less corrosion resistance, especially considering that s35vn is starting to be found pretty commonly at a relatively budget price. Very not excited for it to be the steel for a production mule.
Agreed. Although I'm not at all surprised they chose it. Personally, I probably wouldn't get one if it was more than 40 or 50 bucks. I'd just wait for another more interesting steel.

Casual update…

Sal posted that the ceramic mule was “In the works”. in the mule forum.

I hope that means they are cranking these out at the factory as we speak. :smiling-halo

Fun thought. How soon before someone tries sharpening one of these on ceramic rods or stones? :zany

Thanx or all of the effort and interest. I don't know that we could use MC for the model as that is still a long ways off in Seki. I had planned on maybe a Micarta scales and I was thinking CPM-Cruwear? I could get into motion now. It would still be a year out for any production, but it would be easier than trying o use MC at this time.

" "Edgerati" (TM) prototype."

Sal in the "What Spyderco is in your pocket today" thread (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=60127&start=32180#p1596857)
(Since nobody else has put this quote in the "bombshell" thread so far, this might perhaps be some kind of pun though which I don´t get as a non-native speaker.. ?! :thinking :smirk )
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

It's a pun on "Maserati." A high performance edge knife, it seems :)

So it´s BOTH a pun AND a "bombshell" (perhaps he is carrying the HIGH PERFORMANCE DELICA?!? :winking-tongue )

Maybe if it is a thin grind, Spyderco can sell it but at a different warranty so that people won’t abuse it. A “Razer” edge TM would be a good name. A double entendre. Perhaps a high hollow grind as well as a flat grind? Everyone will want a Spyderco “Razer” with a high performance steel.

How are you going to sharpen a 10 (20 combined) degree angle on say a Sharpmaker? You could use the 30 to resharpen it untill you need to reprofile the blade. What do you do then?

It's actually not that hard to register the existing sides of a bevel on the stone and follow the existing grind freehand.
