Anyone have a Spyderco screen saver?

I am looking to decorate my den in Spyderco. A screensaver would help the computer fit in.

I don't know if there's an "official" screen saver, but I know how you can "make" one. If you have a Mac, that is. A small company called Ambrosia Sofware makes a super-friendly screen saver called Eclipse. Eclipse will let you "paste" your own logo into a window and use that logo as your screen saver. If you're interested, jump on over to:

I'm sure something in the Windows screen saver would let you do the same or similar thing, but I'm not certain.

a few steps for windows. I have Win '95 if that matters...
1> desktop(main screen)
2>right click>cutomize my desktop
3>screen saver> Multimedia screen saver
4>settings
5> fill in any pics you have. In this case, go around spydieworld and pull spydiepics.

I have about 30 pics in my screen saver, all fantasy pics (ie dragons, elves). Takes about 30-45 minutes to make one. That includes gathering pics.

I have the spydieworld pics, and will send them to anyone who wants them. It's 48 pics and 115K, but will be zipped.

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

I also use the Spyder logo at the top left of the forum page as wallpaper. Looks awesome!

Take the Spyderco logo, make a BMP file in Microsoft Paint using a "wall" of the logo, and save it to windows. Next open up your screen savers and select the 3d maze. Use your Spyderco logo on the wall, ceiling and floor. Although it's not fancy, it certainly makes people look, and the little critters look like their moving......

Vampyrewolf,

I'd like the Spydie pics. Thank you.

"pinshooter@canada.com" is my email address, but I think you may already have it.

Jeff.

I have a number of wallpaper size scans made by the late James Mattis. Here's a list:

Merlin, plain and serrated
Titanium Bob Lum Tanto
Shabaria, plain and part-serrated
Shabaria, open and closed
Stainless Calypso Jr and Dragonfly
The 3 Wegners with a Blanchard Pro-venator
Mouse and CF Dragonfly
Miltary, G10 Police and Calypso
Spyderco Sampler
Military with Almite Navigator and Ladybug
All the stainless Spydies
A swarm of Crickets
Moran and friend (not one of James')

Most of them are 1024*768. I use ACDSee to set the wallpaper and this reduces them to 800*600 which is the resolution I normally use. I'm happpy to email them to anybody whose interested.

BTW I also have a scan of the 3 prototype Bob Lum Chinese Foders which is big enough to be a wallpaper.

VampyreWolf and Clay -- I would very much appreciate copies of your pics.

I just learned yesterday that Windows ME has a built-in screensaver. When you access the screensaver page from a right click on the desktop and properties, one of the options is "My Pictures." This is a subfile of My Documents. If you click that, all the pics in that folder become your wallpaper.

Also, I've seen at least 2 or 3 free screensavers you can build yourself. Just do a search on wallpaper and check some of the sites out.

Unfortunately, my kids have a lot of pics in the My Pictures folder. I have another subfolder labelled knife pics. I have 2-300 pictures, mostly of custom knives. Keep saying am going to build a wallpaper, but it might be a lot easier with the material from VampyreWolf and Clay. Would like to find out.

Thanks guys,

Stare,

Those scans of James are all more than 100 Kb so it would take most of the day to send them all <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>. Why don't you pick out a few with your favourite knives in them.

I've made my own screen savers, from pictures on various knife dealer sites. I have one of the Blue Delica, and one of the Macarta Calypso Jr. RKBA!
