Forum Knife - Spyderco Response

#1

Post by TazKristi »

Hello all! After reviewing all of the various threads for a forum knife (as you know there were MANY) and trying to consolidate the information as best as possible... we've come up with the following.

Forum Knife - Dialex Adventura
APPROXIMATE Availability - 90-120 days (around the end of the year)
Steel - VG10
Handle - SS
Overall Length - 7 7/16" (189mm)
Closed Length - 4 3/16" (106mm)
Blade Length - 3 1/4" (83mm)
PlainEdge ONLY
MSRP - $135.95
Your cost - $81.57 (This cost includes engraving)

For those of you who haven't seen it, I've attached a picture. We feel this is the best compromise to everything that was discussed/requested. It is a knife designed by a prominent member of the forums and it seems fitting as an Official Forum knife.

What I need to know now is who wants it. I will keep this thread stickied for 30 days (only this thread and for my own sanity :D ), please sign up here and follow the terms written below.

**Pre-payment required. Send your payment to the following address and be certain to include your screen name, email address (so I can send you a confirmation of receipt) and your shipping address:

Spyderco, Inc.
ATTN: Kristi Hunter
820 Spyderco Way
Golden, CO 80403

**NO Cancellations - Non Refundable

**NO Dealers / Distributors - This is for Forum Members ONLY. Collectors will receive their regular knife, but it will NOT be engraved as the Forum Knife will.

**Limit 2 knives per person/member

**Orders will be accepted as noted until 19Sep. After this date we will not accept any other orders.

Ok, so I forgot a few things... here goes...

Check / Money Order or Credit Card will be accepted.

You can either use snail mail or email me directly with your credit card information (as well as the other details that I need).
khunter@spyderco.com

Shipping: Domestic orders - free ground / International orders - $20.00

Please do NOT contact SFO, all orders for this program need to go directly through me!

These knives will not be numbered, these are special knives just for Forum members. This also will prevent any confusion with the knives for those in our Collectors Club. Each Forum knife will be packaged with a card of authenticity / certification. This card will include information as to how many knives were done.

This will also be a regular production knife (offered without engraving) and yes, it will be sent to the members of the Collectors Club with the regular numbers.

If you have any questions, let me know, but I can say this... there will be NO exceptions to the above terms. We truly hope that those of you who participate will greatly enjoy this knife! We believe you will!

Have a great weekend!!

Kristi

Kristi- I am in for at least 1, possibly 2, and would like #013, if at all possible. I am not sure what all the engraving will be (Spyderco Forums 2005?) but if numbering is involved, sign me up for #013!

I think that this is the best possible outcome for the Forumites, regardless of whatever the polls said. A Forum knife designed by a Forumite, excluding Spyderco Employees of course, is the best solution for everyone. So it's not red/green/black/Technicolor G10/Ti/CF... This isn't a DIY knife shop, and we should feel blessed to have ANYthing from the SFO designated as a Forum Knife. If you want any of the above materials on your new knives, look elsewhere, cause this isn't Burger King.

Kudos to all involved, and Boo Yah for Dialex!

Thanks! I'll be calling soon!

Thanks Kristi,
Excellent choice. I'm in, and if I read this right, snail-mail is the only option.

One more thing, just to be clear. If we have a collector #, this knife will be automatically sent. The Forum knife will be the same model, but engraved "forum model" or such... with or without a number?
Thanks,
Dave

I think the Forum Knife being numbered would make it more special.

Looks awesome! Kudos to Dialex! I'd like to order one but two questions to Kristi: 1) what will be engraved 2) is shipping & handling included?

Hold on all... clarification coming... bear with me... crazy day. I was trying to answer all questions initially, but obviously I had a blonde moment and forget a few.

WOO HOO.

2 for me!

Is the engraving gonna be on the scale or the blade. More room on the scale but that would screw up leftie conversion.

I am stoked.

Thank you Kristi and Sal!

And thank you Dialex!
