Damascus Blades

Post by Skipper »

A fellow Knife Collector told me that he has 2 Spydero Knives with Damascus blades. Apparently these 2 knives came in a presentation case. I think it was really a clear plastic dome type of a display. Has anyone heard of Spyderco Damascas? I didn't realize that Spyderco ever made Damascus.

Hi Skipper. Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

We did a Damascus run of Workers back in the early '80's. We used Tim Zowada Damascus.

Just out of curiousity, those blades were _folded_ damascus, right?

Hello wiley sharp; from what I have read on these forums, Spyderco doesnt do one-off customizations, but there are a few aftermarket customizers; don't know of any specifically, however. Also, I am pretty sure the damascus was limited just to that special edition Worker.

Knife Knut on a shoestring budget.

Sal, you mention a few months ago that the 20th anniversary Spyderco knife might be using Damasteel. I guess we are getting a bit late for 20th anniversary.

Any update? Maybe I missed something.
