Differece in Para-Military
Differece in Para-Military
I know my whole thing is dead and all, Just wnated somebody to maybe clarify this.
When i got my para-Military it had a Silver colored compression lock,
as seen below.
When I look on the spyderco website,
I see a Black lock.
Now is this just becouse if a new rendition of the knife, I would really like to know. if not I will just have to call spyderco.

Just got my New Para. It is ok. Still a lovely knife. Some differences i noticed.
The 1st one had gold or brass spacers inside and this one has silver. This one also has more defined logos on the blade which i really like.
The blade is a little hard to close all the way. I have to force it. I was woundering if i should oil it. If so what should I use. I just think it wasent oiled

Most anomalous. My apologies. Your photo showing the black-bladed Paramilitary and Calypso Jr. blocked out so much glare that I thought its lack of reflection was identical to the minimal reflection on the Calypso Jr.

Vinny,
All you do is come onto these forums and cause trouble. Here we go with another round about something wrong with a Para-Military. You don't like the silver lock. The knife is too hard to close. It's just "OK".
I would suggest you maybe not buy knives, or if you do you just go get some $20 Buck knife from Home Depot and forget about it.
I'm just tired of seeing this forum ruined by garbage talk coming out of your mouth via a keyboard.
If you're going to do this again....just leave man. Just leave.

Speaking of Vinny, FWIW, yesterday I received my new Dodo. Woo-hoo! :D What a great design. It is now my official at-work knife.
Anyway -- and I'm not kidding -- it came with a burr on the tip! It took about a minute on the Sharpmaker to fix, and it only took that long because I was going slow to be careful not to botch the recurve.

I'd ask someone who knew how to fix it how it's done, and then I'd fix it myself in less than a minute just like I did. Maybe I'd buy a cheap sharpening stone for a few bucks. It could easily be done with just about any kind of sharpening stone or even 600 or higher grit sandpaper glued to something flat.
You'd just have to ask how to solve a problem on a forum like this and you'd get answers. The entire process would take less time and energy, involve less flak, and be more educational than the whole "defective product" route.
