As far as coin cell LEDs go ,it's one of the best.Just remember it's water resistant not water proof.

And it's not necessarily Spyderco's photon light, but from the Microlight people who make the great photon microlight II! :)

Yeah, I was thinking "what rivals?" It's the original Photon Microlight... still probably the best in the coin-cell type LED lights.

I assumed that was understood.

Perhaps our fellow formumite was diplomatically indicating that perhaps the question would have been more approprately posed in the "Off Topic" Section given that it has nothing to do with Spyderco  .

How exactly do you figure that?

Not at all.I assumed it was common knowledge that the :spyder: light was made for Spyderco by the manufacturer of the Photon. :)

A reasonable assumption IMHO, but apparently not common knowledge among all. In any event, it's not important. While I currently have two photons (one white, one red) on separate key rings, I recently acquired an Inova Microlight for the wife's. It was a few dollars less than the photon, and every bit as good IMO. Just my $0.02.

No no guys, I figured that Chucklehead thought that Spyderco also produced the light, which isn't the case AFAIK. That's all.
