Goldtanker contains ten letters, none of which is repeated, corresponding to 1 through 0, and is the first term we used in my tank company in RVN to transmit grids and other numeric data on the quick without having to use the cumbersome SOI/SSI. Stuck with me to this day.

Mine's pretty boring. Just a short form of my first name which is Robert and the initial of my surname (which is almost unpronounceable in English because it contains a letter that doesn't exist in the English alphabet).
I used to be just "Rob" on this forum but when the conversion to the new forum was made I had problems logging in with my old account so I abandoned "Rob" and made a new one. The funny thing is that the "Rob"-account is still around but now he's a nominal member...
Cheers, Rob

ASmittyASmitty wrote:well, for me, A is the first letter of my first name and my last name is Smith, hence ASmitty. Over on bladeforums.com I go by MaxFisher, he's the main character in one of my all time favorite movies. That movie is Rushmore in case anyone was wondering.
The real Max Fisher passed away a couple weeks ago at the age of 96. He was one of the Detroit area's wealthiest and most generous philanthropists. He was an advisor to many presidents, most significantly Nixon and Ford. I didn't see Rushmore, so I'm not familiar with the character, but you have borrowed the name of a giant among men.

I think herr silverback did a thread on this a while back.
My moniker is from one of the best graphic novels of all time, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... en.
Rorschach is a tragic, dark and conflicted character, but he also has a lot of very admirable traits, some taken to extremes.
I'm not a big graphic novel reader or collector, but Watchmen is a great story.

I'm familiar with that Max Fisher as well. He's a man I admire greatly. I happen to think that the movie character is somewhat based on the real Max Fisher. And to be 100% honest my screenname is a homage to both (although, sadly, the majority of the people I know don't know who the real Max Fisher is, so I usually only mention the character)rs2 wrote:ASmitty

And I always thought that your user name might come from the famous "Rorschach Inkblot Test" :Drorschach wrote:My moniker is from one of the best graphic novels of all time, Watchmen. Rorschach is a tragic, dark and conflicted character, but he also has a lot of very admirable traits, some taken to extremes.

When signing up for some or other service, I tried MIKE. Fat chance! So I tried MIKEW : name and first letter of my surname. Nah! Tried MIKEWW : Nice try, no cigar! So I tried MIKEWWW : Yay ! At last! So I stuck with this one, and I don't have to remember a plethora of names! :) :)

Well there is a tie-in, as the character Rorschach wears a mask of that has viscous fluid under fabric in a symmetric pattern, and the shapes chanage (ala Rorschach test) which indicate his expressions.Rob F wrote:And I always thought that your user name might come from the famous "Rorschach Inkblot Test" :D
