I just got one recently. Looks nice next to my 25th Anniversary Delica :D (thanks Jur!)

A related issue: Does anyone know what the girder steel making up the skyline is treated with? I am sure that it is not stainless.

it can't be, i think it's high carbon, and EDM cut out of a slab of steel. I know the skyline was threated by a CO firm against corrosion, i just can't remember where i got the info from. I would suspect it was electroplated with a gray finish.

I believe the name of the firm is mentioned in the 2003 catalog, because :spyder: thanks them for their cooperation.

hi cruiser, welcome to the board. i completely agree with you. what better way for a knife nut to: a) help with a good cause
b) own a piece of the w.t.c. to make sure we will
never forget
c) also get a very nice knife in a just as nice box

i can't believe half of them are left. i might have to get a second one.

WTC in stock?

#12

Post by xrob »

Hello all,

Every time I have checked the Spyderco store, the WTC is always listed as out of stock. If half of them are left, why is this?

Do I need to perform some feat of strength to get one?

Thanks,

hi x rob
i think the answer to your question is, that there is very little storage room at the outlet. so once the stock there is sold, it will show it out of stock until they get more from the factory, where i assume the overstock is kept.
if you're thinking about ordering one, just call cody at the sfo at (303)-279-8613 or (800)-828-1925 and i'm sure he'll be able to track one down for you.

Hadn't heard that half of them were left. Number 068 hasn't seen the light of day for a spell. No idea what the treatment was or if Spyderco added anything to protect the finish. Still fresh and unpitted in this humid environment.

WTC knives are not usually sold through the store, they are sold through Pat at the office.

We still have some left and we will continue the project until 9/11.

If intgerested, please contact Pat at Spyderco.

Senate,
Was e-mailing the other day about this same subject, the address is:
ppalmer@spyderco.com, as per Amanda at retail sales. Pardon me for jumping in. I am planning on ordering in a week or so and am hoping this helps. :D

I have one.

Every now and then I bring it out to admire it. When ever I get it out I can't help but to think of "things".
