Jess Horn Baby--Why No Model # ?
Jess Horn Baby--Why No Model # ?
I recently ordered a Jess Horn Baby from the Spyderco Factory Outlet.I am very pleased with the knife and I'm glad I added it to my Spyderco collection. One question-- the box does not indicate a model #-- nor is it listed anywhere in the 2001 catalog. Is there a reason why this is so? Is this an experimental model that never hit the retail market? Anyone know?
Hi Rfo1. Welcome to the Spyderco forum.
The "Baby" Horn was made as an exclusive for AG Russell a number of years ago. We made extras in case he needed them. When AG dropped the model from his catalog, we waited a couple of years and we're selling off the extras through the outlet store. It was never a regular Spyderco SKU so it never had a Spyderco SKU number.

Quick question about the Baby Jess Horn - to my knowledge, they were made with White micarta, Black micarta, and stainless steel handles. Is this correct? Any other variations released, like Burgundy? Thanks.
Oh - Patty, my Baby's got to their new home safe and sound. Thanks very much. May be ordering more in a few weeks. They're great.

Zhang,
I think the "baby" Jess Horn was only ever available in the variations you mention. I was tempted to say that it was also available in burgundy but I was getting it confused with the full size model with a flat ground blade, which AG Russell also sells. It is available with burgundy and white scales.

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow, in Australia it's tomorrow already.
