New D'Allara

#1

Post by ASmitty »

I'm sure I read something on the forums here at some point that said there is going to be an update in the future of the D'Allara Rescue model that is going to incorporate a drop point blade. I'm sure that I saw this and I just want to make sure that I wasn't dreaming. I'm also wondering what the chances are that we'll see a smaller version of that drop point D'Allara. I love the D'Allara and I think that a drop point blade and a smaller size would make it the absolute perfect EDC knife.

Soryy, I've never read something about a D'Allara Droppoint or a similar knife.
But I'd like to see more Spyderco knives with the ballbearing lock.

I know what you are talking about...I know I read one of Sal's posts either here or at BladeForums about changing the blade shape. I can't seem to find the thread either, but I don't think you were dreaming this one up, because I remember hearing the same thing a little while back. Sorry I can't help more. . .

I do indeed remember reading it somewhere. But I can't remember whether or not it is on this forum or on the other BF. I like the D' Allara my self. It has one of the best grips of any of the "Rescue" type knives. I do distinctly remember reading that about a "drop point" and another type of blade they had plans for. :)

It was on BladeForums.com and like you, I really appreciate this type of grip event thought it's not the knid of knife I like to have in my EDC.

I have the prototype in my pocket as I type. ;)

Thinner, easier ball access, 3.5" - VG-10 drop point.

We'll show it at SHOT.

What about a smaller model...

Sal

Any chance we'll see a more compact version of that new D'Allara? Something about 4" closed with a 2.75-3.0" blade. I've been wanting to see Spyderco bring out a ball-bearing lock in that size ever since the introduction of the ball lock.

I'm glad that it's in VG10 so that it'll be drool-proof.
