You ask a toughie ..... how do you have the nerve to cancel so many lives of so many great knives. I guess the trick is to keep the best of the best.

Well, here's my cut at it, as difficult as it is (not in any particular order);
Police G10
CoPolit
Progrip stainless
Catcherman
Rescue Jr.
Ladybug II
Dyad Micarta
Dyad FRN
Tim Zowanda
Eduar Bradichansky Shabara

1. Police G10 (the ss version sells better, and the G10 serves the same niche as the Military)

2. Endura 2 (roughly the same niche as the ss Police)

3. Delica 2 (will be replaced by aluminum and Ti "Salsas&quot

4. Co-Pilot (Navigator is a more advanced design)

5. Dragonfly 2 (Almite Navigator fills the metal handle 2" blade niche, keep the FRN version)

6. Tim Zowda

7. Toad

8. JD Smith (i've heard that this doesn't sell well)

9. Police necklace

10. Police tie-clip

11. ss Pro-grip

12. Wegner (It isn't selling. Perhaps replace with new Wegner 2 and different marketing?)

This is incredibly hard for me to say, but the best thing to do for the company would be to let the market decide. I would cut the models that are not selling well or that are not meeting acceptable profits. No matter what gets cut some people won't be happy. However, the ultimate goal should be to maximize profitability while producing a great product.
If I had to pick from this list the following 10 would get cut:

SS Police (g-10 version should be replacement)
Pro Grip FRN/Kraton handle
Snap it
Remote Release
Navigator
Tim Zowada
D'Holder Toad
JD Smith
Eduard Bradichansky Shabaria
Eduard Bradichansky Spydecard

I will also agree with others who say the Mouse should be in the regular lineup and replace the toad and navigator.

I love the Wegner, but could live without it if it is replaced with the Wegner II.

Here's my thoughts and why.
#50 Police model necklace.
Make way for a new miniature Spyderco model each year or different inlays.

#51 police tie clip.Same reasons as above.

#1 Police model stainless steel.
I prefer G10 for grip.

#17 Snap it.
The remote release is a much better hook type retainer.Maybe with a sheepsfoot blade.

#16 Rescue junior.
The rescue fills the bill here.

#25 Dyad micarta
#26 Dyad jnr FRN

#38 Toad.
Make the mouse a regular line.Hopefully reduce the price also.

#40 Shabaria.
Time for new models

#39 JD smith.
Same as above.

Ricki

The two things I would surely get rid of are the jewelry pieces:
#50 - Police Model Necklace
#51 - Police Model Tie Clip
Spydie Knives are great tools - it's what you do best.

I hate voting against any Spdie's, but I'll give you a couple:
#1 - Police Stainless (G-10 is better)
#29 - Calypso Jr Stainless

Four knives that should remain in the Spydie line are as follows:
#24 - Military - My personal favorite
#36 - Starmate - Such a good looking knife
#48 - Gunting - Way too interesting
#49 - Gunting trainer - Needed for training with the Gunting.

I'm glad the final isn't mine!

One way or the other, you pay for your tools!

My suggestions:
1. Police Model Stainless handle
2. Harpy Stainless handle
3. Endura Stainless handle
4. Delica stainless handle
5. CoPilot
6. Pro Grip Stainless/kraton handle
7. Peter Herbst
8. Tim Zowada
9. D'Holder Toad
10. Police model tie clip

Or, for the most part, believe all stainless handles could go. Too **** slippery & heavy.

I'd have to go along with dumping the large stainless steel models. Ditto the jewelry. Also the Starmate. I'm glad I have mine, but you have more ergonomic models in that size.

I'd give the Shabaria a little more time, but what do I know? I'd keep the trainers, and work up a 'PC' marketing campaign aimed at self-defense for women. Sell a package of Delica knife, trainer, and video tape. Wouldn't that be something if it took off?

I'd guess that the Bob Lum Tanto isn't a perennial best seller.

The Catcherman has never appealed to me, but neither has fishing. Ditto the Toad, and, um, toading.

I'd keep the Merlin FRN, especially plain edge, since I use one very often for letters and packages.

I think the Vesuvious could sell well, but I'm not sure what the production version is.

I'd keep one of the Moran fixed-blade models, at least for a year.

WRT the Gunting series, Bram indicates that there are a lot of LEA interested in it. That could translate to a lot of units sold....
