Forum Knife?
Sal,
Now that this new forum is up and running, is it too soon to start thinking about a forum knife? Actually, don't answer that, I'm sure it is too soon but I have some ideas anyway . I was thinkng of something that could be done in a small run, probably in Golden, without interfering too much with normal production. Maybe it should also be ordered in advance so that only the needed number of pieces are produced. I'm trying to avoid the problems which arose with the BF Native and Matriarch .
My suggestion is for a Centofante Jr with pearl shell/G10 scales and appropriate etching on the blade. Shouldn't interrupt normal production very much and you did say the protoype you had looked sweet .
Any other suggestions?
Clay
Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow, in Australia it's tomorrow already.

Northern Hemisphere checkin' in here
How 'bout a Military in a combo-blade with colored G-10? I would drool over khaki or maroon G-10. Or a special run of the first Military Jr's! Either one would, of course have special blade etching. "Spydernuts"?

Sorry Sal, guess I just can't help myself .
OK you lot, the ball's in your court. How many of you would be interested in a special Centofante Jr with pearl shell scales and some appropriate engraving? I've found the Cento Jr to be an incredibly useful knife for daily tasks but the design really deserves a more classy appearance.
C'mon folks don't let me down .

Thanks for the support folks, but I think we're going to need more than this . Anybody else?
Ferret, I think it's going to need some sort of engraving, even small and tasteful , to identify it as the forum knife. Needs the year as well so that we can do one anually . I can't remember if the knife Benchmade did for rec.knives was engraved or not. James would know.

The rec.knives Benchmade 850-Pearl said "rec.knives" on it.
I'd go for a Centofante Jr. in pearly G10.

Dear Spyder-Nuts,
Here is another opinion: the "pearly" G10 scales that I saw at this years Blade Show were UGLY in the extreme. I like the idea of something different in a Forum knife. Solid colors in G10 OK; but the imitation pearl looks cheap. Its like putting plastic pearl grips on a fine Colt or S&W.
The Centofante is not my favorite; but make one in a solid color and plain edge (flat ground is better in plain) and I will order one.
Good thread; thanks for asking. Greg
