Hi Sam, I just sent my black Pacific across the Pacific, perhaps I'll wait till the yellow ones come out to replace it. Considering the puposes these knives were designed for, yellow handles really make a lot more sense than black. Do hope a there'll be a PE yellow Atlantic sometime in the future.

Actually the yellow version was the result of our Australian Distributor (ZEN) prodding us. They have been working with us for many years and Michael usually knows what he's talking about. We try to listen.

Given the Oz connection I'll probably have to get the Yellow in the end but the black will do in the short term.

Yellow for Salt Water?

#13

Post by bell »

The yellow handle color appears to be indicative of a salt water knife. I noticed a popular BM fixed blade in H1 with yellow slabs for diving etc. This may be helpful in the industry, i.e. standardized color coding for a specific purpose such as rescue orange, marine yellow, etc.

An orange Calypso jr. SE, that would be cool. Or even an orange Delica ;) I wonder if they could put something in those yellow / orange FRN handles to make them glow in the dark - now THAT would be a rescue knife (hint, hint) ;)
