Spyderco used to produce a folder that was designed by R. Terzuola. I had one given to me by a dear friend. I lost the knife and would like to replace it. It's conbination of size, shape, etc. made it perfect for my use. Anyone out there have one they have decided doesn't meet their needs any longer--I'm in the market. Thanks. Slim.

They show up on Ebay from time to time, but are becoming increasingly rare. Last time I talked to 'em, Wright Knife and Sporting Goods has at least one. www.wrightknife.com They're gonna be tough to find; most of us that have them are not willing to part with them, because the Starmate rocks.

There were three Spyderco/Terzuola models. The C15 and C19 and the Starmate. More details?

Slim, which one of these?

C15 - Bob T (3.5" blade)
<IMG SRC="http://www.ted.tweakdsl.nl/spyderco/c15/thumb_c15.jpg">

C19 - Bob T Jr. (2 3/4" blade)
<IMG SRC="http://www.ted.tweakdsl.nl/spyderco/c19/thumb_c19.jpg">

C55 - Starmate (3 3/4" blade)
<IMG SRC="http://www.ted.tweakdsl.nl/spyderco/c55/thumb_c55gs.jpg">

All these models are very hard to find in PE (Plain Edge). The C55 is pretty easy to find in CE, but the Bob T's far more difficult. The Bob T's were availabel with Aluminum and G-10 handles.

Slim, I know of a shop that has a C15GPS (G-10, combo edge) in stock (on the 1st of september).
The price with shipping would be around $145.
If you're interested, send me an e-mail and I'll send you his info.

I wanted to respond to this thread last week, but didn't want to shoot my own foot, so to speak. I just got my latest Spydie- a C15 PE 1st Ed., #0417. It was on eBay, and it got a little pricey, but WTF. It is perfect, and the C19 CE I had snagged a few weeks ago is glad to have his big brother around too, so things are cool! I also found a NOS Black LBKII with the Serrated Sheepsfoot at a local place- a very nice keychain cutter with a wicked sharp front tooth!

I have all three of the knives and find the C-55 StarMate to be the clear favorite. The other two have liner-locks but do not have Spyderco's adjustable eccentric pivot that allows the interface between the blade tang and the liner lock to be optimized. The C-15 is the ONLY Spyderco on which I have ever had the lock fail. It did it once, when I was prying something. It was abuse of my knife, although no damage was done either to the knife or to me, but it did make me a bit less than fully confident of the lock in that particular knife. The StarMate, on the other hand, has done all that I have ever asked of it and much more.

As an added benefit, the StarMate comes in CPM440V steel whereas the C-15 and C-19 come in ATS-34 steel. I much prefer the CPM440V.

Spyderco Bob Terzoula Aluminum Handle

#11

Post by cattaraugus41 »

I just picked up a Spyderco Bob Terzoula with the 1/2 plain and 1/2 serrated off of Ebay. It's in EXCELLENT condition. Can anybody tell me how old this model is?? It has the Aluminum Handles - not G-10 because it's not textured and it's black - black.

Congrats on your Terzuola!

IMO the C15 with aluminium handles was produced 1990-1993; this mean your knife is about 14-17 years old, a pubertal age, hope you have no troubles :D

They made them with the aluminum handles from 1990 to 1993. I don't think the first production models were stamped on the handle "Made In USA". Sal said there were a few different vendors that actually produced that model so there are different variations.

THANKS !! Any idea about locktite on the terzoula??

Your information has been quite helpful. I think I have the 3rd generation knife because of the USA MADE on it. It's in nice shape. Can I use locktite on the clip screws (not the permananet stuff, torque breaking locktite) ?? I took the clip off to oil under and when I put it back on I didn't want to overtighten the screws because of the aluminum scales, and the clip became loose....how tight can I screw these down without using locktite??
Thanks
Dean
