So, what are our spydie collections looking like?

None of us seem to be able to keep our wallets away from Sal.

So... What kind of spydie collection does each of us have, and also why we like each blade...

1> Delica(FRN/Plain) I like this one b/c it's plain but gets any job done. It has served my well for 2 yrs.

2> Ladybug(50/50) I got this little bugger to find out what serrations were like. I also get to se this guy at school.

3> Cricket(Almite, Serrated) I needed a little guy to use for work. The Cricket seemed like a good blade, and the serrations(on ladybug) did well for the month before I got it(the cricket). Got Almite to get it engraved.

1. Wegner, full size (plain): Big, solid, heavy duty. No-nonsense all-around utility design. My first Spyderco. If I were heading into the field this one would go with me.

2. Bob "T" aluminum, large (plain): Elegant, light, with great ergos for such a small handle. The low dropped-point is very useful. Once I got this it displaced the larger, thicker, heavier Wegner. It is more suitable as a city knife.

3. Matriarch, grey (serrated): Very light and easy to carry. I got this since it was the only tip-up option in the Civilian family, and I wanted some extra security for those occassional evening walks. Open only in case of emergency.

4. Lum Chinese (plain): Very refined and beautiful, with the most useful blade and handle design that I have encountered. Excellent steel. As yet it is the ultimate city knife IMO. I carry this most often.

5. Civilian, CF (serrated): Magnificent in workmanship and materials -- the way things ought to be. The grandest folder I have ever owned.

Looking forward to:

1. G10 Lum Tanto
2. Temperance Jr. (both blade styles)
3. ATR

(1) Grey Matriarch: was carrying a Gerber Guardian backup since I work in a scummy section of town, saw the Matriarch and did some research on it, decided it would be a better option for me, beutiful blade.
(2) 204 Sharpmaker: Most godly of sharpmakers, had a ol crappy blade purchased on a street corner from a vendor by my mom, had no edge, couldnt even cut a carrot, after 80 total swipes it can shave hair.
(3) G10 Chinook: What a beutiful blade, sharp as a razor, solid as a rock, perfect weight, perfect size, perfect cutting.
(4) G10 Civilian: Just to see what the fuss was about, luverly blade but still prefer my Matriarch
(5) Stainless handle Harpy: needed a util knife for cutting things like boxes, love the hawkbills.
(6) Spydercard: Need something small for my wallet and was curious about this lill blade.

Blades still to order:

Military
Gunting
Gunting Drone
Police (hollow grind)
Police necklace
and many many more <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

1. Mariner(SS/Serrated)
2. Pre-98 Rescue(FRN/Serrated)
3. Rescue(FRN/Serrated)
4. Rescue(SS/Serrated)
5. Rescue Jr.(SS/Serrated)

If you didn't notice already, I have a thing for the sheepfoot blade. I like the way Spyderco puts it:"when you want to cut something, not someone." In my opinion, a knife is a cutting tool. Not that it can't be used for self defense, but I need to carry a knife that can be used on a daily basis. I also like full serrations.

Well I guess you have to start somewhere. Last week I decided to get a Spydercard, which I am very happy with. I have just also recently ordered a Calypso Jr. Lt and also a 204 Sharpmaker. I'm looking forward to getting these. Hopefully there will be many more to follow.

Darn. I'd have fit in better before dePaul with his laundry list.

I've "only just begun" --
Walker Ltwt
Dyad -- lg
Goddard Ltwt.

Unfortunately, tend to be into larger knives, so my future purchases will be slower/father apart than I'd like.

Want --
Wegner
Chinook
Turzola -- 1 or other
Calypso -- lg
Lums -- both
Moran -- drop point
-- probably others

To the future!

i'm a new spydie collector so my list is very small.

1. Santafe Stoneworks Police, serrated blade, beautiful knife.
2. Just ordered Carbon Fiber Dragonfly, serrated blade.
3. Also ordered Cricket, w/ serrated blade.

I have been looking at them at local knife stores and it is very hard to decide which one to choose. I have had the police for about 5 or 6 years and very rarely carry it. i ordered the cricket to carry and double as a money clip since i dont carry a wallet. the dragonfly was ordered because its rare and i just love the look and feel of carbon fiber. im hoping to find more of the carbon fiber knives in the future. so if anyone knows where i can get a cf cricket let me know .
