Which locks can be opened/closed one-handed with left hand?

A front-lock very easy (Endura/Delica)
Ball-locks also (DoDo/d'Allara Rescue)
A compression-lock with some practice. (Lil Temp/Para-Military/Salsa)
(Integral) liner-locks might be a challenge (Military/Cricket)

Right said Ted <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
Linerlocks and Phantom lock™ are difficult to operate with the left hand.

difficult, not impossible...

have had the alum salsa & meerkat, both have gone in trades, both were setup for left hand the full time I had them. My ss cricket ends up clipped to left/front pocket when I carry it, not as fast as right handed but still easy.

front locks, ball/axis locks, and compression are all easy left handed. currently have a BM921S on left.

I have to agree with previous posted comments . As a lefty at the first of this year all my righty knives went to other people . I can live with a righty linerlock but only if it has reversable clips , just too awkward for me to have a righty in a left pocket . The Impala was a big favorite that I sold to a friend that I really miss , it had everything I wanted big blade , G10 , strong linerlock , and good looks , but no liner to enable a reversable clip . There are left handed liners available in other brands , Benchmade has made small runs in the past , I have an older 812 LS mini AFCK , that has a patented Spyderco hole in the blade . This is a topic that is sort of a pet peeve , and is why I have more Spyderco products than any other product in my collection . I suggest handle what you are interested in before you buy , and decide what works best for or what you are willing to put up with if it is a righty knife . As usual Spyderco Rules !!

Aside from the Gunting, all Compression Locks are left-handed locks.

After that, the Ball-Bearing lock, the mid-lock (a lockback on the middle of the spine), and the Phantom Lock.

There are some other companies that will make left-handed integral linerlocks, but they're very pricey compared to Spyderco.

Spyderco is expected to be releasing an ambidextrous version of the Li'l Temperance folder next year. Whenever that time is, it will be wonderful. Until then, many people are buying the ATR or the Yojimbo (now also available in black G10!) for the ultimate in ambidextrous carry.

Well I'm a lefty and I prefer:
lockbacks
Linerlocks
ball-lock
some compression locks

The stiffer nested compression lock of the paramilitary has a bit of learning-curve. All others are pretty comfortable for me.

IMO The compression lock is set up for left hand use except for the one on the Gunting.
I can close compression locks much easier with my left hand.

The king of Spyderco´s ambidextrous is: Chinook II!
I am lefty and have many Spyderco with Compression Lock (Paramilitary, Salsa TI, Vesuvius): in my opinion is lefty friendly, but, for close with only one hand is for me impossible.

I am new to being a lefty/southpaw, due to a serious injury to my right arm.

I've explored most of them. I have a compression lock yojimbo, which works well. I have a ball bearing Dodd which opens like ligthning. I have yet to see the ATR, but I have another model of an assisted openiner, which is ok too. But I have to say, there are some non-assisted folders that are easy to open, and just as quick and maybe safer than the new assisted opening rage. Assisted openers can be addictive and prone to play with. Also, in a threating situation, the click of an assisted opener kind of commits you to action, and the other guy as well. Sometime, I think that "what if the assisted opener jammed or did work, or opened inadervently....

A small fixed blade is always reliable.

Just some thoughts to be safe with.
