1. Blade length 2 3/4" to 3 3/4"
2. Any normal cutting task, ie opening envelopes, cutting fruit, opening boxes, cutting wire and media on the job, stripping wire insulation, opening prepackages coffee, the list could go on for a long time.
3. I was 8 years old and have carried a knife almost daily ever since.

Hi Sal,

Carry a 3 to 4 inch blade every day.

Use for all tasks in a retail store.

Began carrying a knife when I was a Cub Scout.

That was in the fifties.

Hey Sal,

1. Usually my main knife is around 3.75"

2. Open mail, open UPS/Fedex boxes, string, paper for fun, and almost anything that a sharp edge is needed for.

3. Probably around 10 or so year olds. Started with Swiss Army knives and worked on up.

Hope everything works out!

Hello Sal,

1. What size (blade length) knife do you normally carry?

I have 3 knives on my person as I type this....the blades range in length from 1.5 inches to 2.9 inches but the actual cutting edges are shorter than that.

2. What do you use your knife for?

I use my knives every day for opening mail, opening boxes/packages, gathering vegetables from my garden, cleaning my fingernails, digging dandylions, etc... One of man's earliest and most useful tools.

3. At what age did you begin carrying a knife?

I have been carrying a knife for as long as I can remember......probably 5 or 6 years old. I gave my son his first knife when he was 4 years old, at the Blade Show in Atlanta, 1991.

Size> 2 to 4 inches
Use it for everything, cutting hydraulic seals at work to spreading peanut butter on my toast. Cutting boxes, cleaning game.
I got my first knife when I was 10, started to regularly carry a knife when I was 14 or 15.

Good luck Sal - hope we all helped with this.

I’m involved in a court case. I’m sorry, I cannot give detailed information. I would like to know:

1. What size (blade length) knife do you normally carry? Anywhere from a 2 to 4 inch blade.

2. What do you use your knife for? Everything from opening mail to camping.

3. At what age did you begin carrying a knife? 15 or 16

Thanx much for your help.

Hi Sal
Normally carry a 3-4" blade
Use a knife for lots of chores like opening packages, sharpening pencils, food prep etc along with outdoor/shooting tasks on weekend. Been carrying daily since I was about 16 - almost 30 years.
Hope things are OK with you.

Phil

I can't believe so few people actually carry a knife for protection. Thanks God, I never had to use any of my knives for that purpose but it does make me feel safer when I come back from school(downtown) past midnight sometimes. If you do carry one for SD and are not mentionning it for stats, it might not be a good idea. Just my 2 cents.

3-4" carried daily. Occaisionally a fixed-blade up to an 8" blade for work and up to about 6" blade for camping.

I use a blade to cut things... Such as packing tape, line, cardboard, paper- even the famous seat-belt a few times.

I began carrying a knife at about age 12. Of course that isn't PC anymore...
